Council doth hereby declare that the assent of the
aboriginal inhabitants to the bringing the piece of
land described in the Schedule hereunder written
under the operation of "The Native Reserves Act,
1856," has been ascertained.

SCHEDULE.
All that piece or parcel of land situate at Poukawa,
in the Province of Hawke's Bay, in the Colony of
New Zealand, containing by admeasurement three
thousand six hundred and sixty-eight (3,668) acres
more or less, bounded as follows:-Commencing at
an angle on the western side of the Te Aute Road,
near Hapuku's pa, crossing the road and following
along the southern boundary of Te Aute Block No. 5,
a distance altogether of three hundred and seventy-
six (376) links; thence following along the south-
eastern boundary of Te Aute Block No. 5, a distance
of four thousand three hundred and fifty (4,350) links,
to the eastern corner of that block; thence along the
southern boundary of the Ko Parakore Block, to its
south-eastern corner, a distance of six thousand seven
hundred and twenty (6,720) links; thence following
along the south-western boundary of the Tarere
Block, to its southernmost corner on the Poukawa
Creek; from thence following along the eastern side
of Poukawa Lake to the north-eastern corner of
Pukekura Block West; thence along the northern
and western boundaries of that block to Puki
Tuki, distances respectively of four thousand six
hundred and eighty (4,680) links and seven thousand
and fifty (7,250) links; thence along the north-
eastern, northern, north-western, western, and
south-western boundaries of Pukerowhitu Block,
distances respectively of four thousand and eighty
(4,080) links, two thousand two hundred (2,200)
links, one thousand and ninety (1,090) links, nine hun-
dred and eighty-five (985) links, six hundred and ten
(610) links, two hundred and seventy (270) links, seven
hundred and seventy (770) links, one thousand seven
hundred and fifty (1,750) links, five hundred and
fifteen (515) links, one thousand six hundred and
thirty (1,630) links, four hundred and fifty (450)
links, and two thousand eight hundred and nine-
teen (2,890) links, to the western boundary of Pukekura
Block West; thence southerly along that bounda-
ry a distance respectively of one thousand three
and thirty-two (1,332) links and six hundred and
nineteen (619) links, to the north-eastern corner
of Te Aute Block No. 2; thence following along the
north-eastern and north-western boundaries of
block, distances of one thousand and forty-seven
(1,047) links and three thousand eight hundred and
fifty (3,850) links respectively, to the easternmost
corner of Whakawiringa Block; from thence follow-
ing along the north-eastern boundary lines of
block, and of Te Aute Blocks Nos. 3 and 4, the
eastern boundary line of Raukawa Block No. 1, and
No. 2, Te Whare ate ate puru Block, and Te Pukehou
Block, distances respectively of six thousand six
hundred and ten (6,610) links, one thousand three
hundred and sixteen (1,316) links, two hundred and
eighty-three (283) links, two hundred and six (206)
links, nine hundred (900) links, three hundred and
seventy-nine (379) links, four hundred and sixty-six
(466) links, eight hundred and eighty-six (886)
links, five hundred (500) links, eight hundred and
eleven (811) links, six hundred and sixty (660) links,
three hundred and sixty (360) links, three hun-
dred and eleven (311) links, nine hundred and
forty (940) links, one thousand five hundred (1,500)
links, four thousand eight hundred and seventy-three
(4,873) links, and two thousand eight hundred and
eighty (2,880) links, to the eastern corner of Pukehou
Block; thence along the south-western and south-
eastern boundaries of Te Kena Block, distances of
two thousand four hundred and twenty-five (2,425)
links, one thousand seven hundred and twenty (1,720)
links, and three hundred and thirty (330) links respectively,
to the south-eastern corner of said block on the
eastern side of the Te Aute Road; thence along the
eastern and north-eastern boundaries of Te Kena
Block, distances of about one thousand and fifty
(1,050) links, and six hundred and fifty (650)
links respectively, to the north-eastern corner of the
said block; thence following along the northern
boundary of said block, distances of one thousand
nine hundred and sixty (1,960) links, five hundred
and forty (540) links, and one thousand eight
hundred and forty (1,840) links, to the Mangawehi
Stream; following southerly along that stream to the
north-eastern boundary of Pukehou Block; thence
along that boundary, distances of two thousand
four hundred and fifty (2,450) links and four
thousand two hundred (4,200) links, to the south-
eastern boundary of Raukawa Block East; thence
following along that boundary, distances of eight
thousand seven hundred and seventy (8,770) links,
five thousand nine hundred and fifty (5,950) links,
and one thousand three hundred (1,300) links, to the westernmost corner of
Ko Parakore Block; from thence along the south-
western boundary of that block, distances of seven
hundred (700) links and four thousand six hundred
and ten (4,610) links, to the northernmost corner of
Te Aute Block No. 6; thence following along the
north-western, south-western, and southern bound-
aries of that block, distances of one thousand
three hundred and four (1,304) links, nine hundred
and forty-seven (947) links, one thousand six
hundred and thirty-three (1,633) links, and two
thousand three hundred and ninety-six (2,396) links,
to the southern boundary of Ko Parakore Block;
and from thence following along that boundary a distance of two
hundred and eighty (280) links to the western side
of the Te Aute Road; and from thence following
southerly along that road, a distance of four thousand
eight hundred and sixty (4,860) links, to the com-
mencing point at the angle of the road opposite the
south-western corner of Te Aute Block No. 5.
Excepting always the two small blocks of land
called or known by the names of Koroki No. 1 and
Koroki No. 2.
