LAND TRANSFER ACT NOTICES.

Lands Registry Office, Dunedin.

WHEREAS the persons named at foot hereof
have each respectively for himself made
application to have the land set forth and described
after his name brought under the operation of
"The Land Transfer Act, 1870," notice is hereby
given, that unless caveat be lodged with the District
Land Registrar of the District of Otago, by some
person having estate or interest in the said lands, on or
before the date herein below for each case specified,
the said pieces of land will be brought under the
operation of the said Act as by law directed.
Diagrams delineating these parcels of land may be
inspected at this office.

Town of Invercargill. Commencing at the south-
eastern corner of said section No. 5, and bounded
thence on the East by section number six (6) of the
same block, in a line running north sixty-six feet;
thence on the North by section number four (4) in
a line running west thirty-six feet two inches;
thence on the West by other part of said section
number five (5) in a line running south sixty-six
feet; and thence on the South by Leet Street thirty-
six feet two inches to the commencing point.

HUMPHREY STANLEY HERBERT JONES,
of Leynon, Holyhead, North Wales, Commissary-
General, by his Attorney ANDREW BUCHANAN,
of Dunedin, in the Province of Otago, Doctor of

Caveats in each case must be lodged within one
month after the gazetting of this notice.

Dated this 27th day of May, 1871, at the Lands
Registry Office, Invercargill.

JOHN DOUGLAS, of Palmerston, in the Pro-
vince of Otago, Sheep Farmer.-Section 2 of 37,
Block XIII., Pomahaka District; also Section 6,
Block X., Hawksbury District.

Caveat in each case must be lodged within one
calendar month after the publication of this notice.

Dated this 3rd day of June, 1871, at the Lands
Registry Office, Dunedin.

Patent for an Invention for providing a readier and
more rapid Means for shifting Stones, Forkings,
Tailings, Gravel, Mullock, and other Earthy or
Stony Particles necessary to be separated in
Alluvial Gold or other Metallic Workings where
Sluicing Operations are carried on.

THIS is to notify that JOHN GRAY, of Hokitika, in
The County of Westland, New Zealand, Miner,
did on the twenty-fourth day of February, deposit at
the office of the Patent Officer, in the Colonial
Secretary's Office in Wellington, a specification or
instrument in writing, under his hand and seal,
particularly describing and ascertaining the nature of
the said Invention, and in what manner the same is
to be performed, and that by reason of such deposit
the said Invention is protected and secured to him
exclusively for the term of six calendar months thence
next ensuing.

And I do further notify, that the said John Gray
has given notice in writing, at my office, of his inten-
tion to proceed with his application for Letters Patent
for the said Invention, and that I have appointed
Friday, the fourth day of August next, at ten o'clock
in the forenoon, at my office, to hear and consider the
said application and all objections thereto; and I do
hereby require all persons having an interest in
opposing the grant of such Letters Patent to leave,
on or before the thirty-first day of July, at my office
in Wellington, particulars in writing of their objec-
tions to the said application, otherwise they will be
prevented from urging the same.

Given under my hand this fourth day of May, 1871.
