This transaction represents a renewal of the Overdraft of £60,000 created in 1868-69, now covered by a Deficiency Bill under the 15th section of "The Public Revenues Act, 1867."

In 1865 Parliament moved to Wellington and sat in the Wellington Provincial Council Chambers (depicted). Gradually expanded into a larger complex of buildings, it was replaced by the General Assembly Library in 1899
