POST OFFICE MONEY ORDERS.
WITH reference to Treasury Notice of the 10th
December, 1862, published in Government Gazette
No. 231, it is hereby notified, that on and after the
1st March, 1871, the Post Office Money Order System
will be extended to the following place, viz. :-
Wiseman's Ferry.
JOSEPH DOCKER.
CUSTOMS. - Whereas a portion of a certain build-
ing situate on the north side of the Haven Road,
at the Port of Nelson, and known as
SCOTT'S BOND,
was some time since appointed as a Warehouse for
the reception and security of goods entered to be
warehoused without payment of duty upon the first
entry thereof: Now, in exercise of the authority in
me for this purpose vested, I, the Commissioner of
Customs, do, by this order under my hand, revoke
and annul, as from the fifth day of January last, the
appointment of the said building as such Warehouse
as aforesaid.
Given under my hand at Wellington, this
sixteenth day of March, one thousand
eight hundred and seventy-one.

THE following Notices to Mariners, received from
the Marine Board of South Australia, and the
Portmaster, Brisbane, are published for general
information.
HENRY SEWELL.
ST. VINCENT'S GULF, CAPE JERVIS.
NOTICE is hereby given, that on or about 1st May,
1871, a Fixed Bright Light will be exhibited from a
Lighthouse, on Cape Jervis, at the entrance of Back-
stairs Passage from St. Vincent's Gulf.
The Light Tower will be in latitude 35 deg. 37 min.
3 sec. S., longitude 138 deg. 7 min. 30 sec. E., and
the Light will be visible for a distance of 12 to 14
miles, on an arc from seaward from N. 25 deg. E. to
S. 4 deg. E.
The outer extremity of the reef projecting from
Cape Jervis, lies 1,600 feet to the S.W. of the Light-
house.

NOTICE TO MARINERS.
NOTICE is hereby given, that the Fifth Red Beacon
placed in the cutting through the Inner Bar (vide
Notice dated July 9th, 1870, published in the New
Zealand Gazette for 1870, page 436) has been
removed, and a Black Beacon has been placed on the
north side of the cutting, opposite Snapper Point, to
denote the entrance to the cutting from seaward.

MIDDLE CHANNEL, MORETON BAY.
In consequence of the still further growth northwards
of the Venus Bank Spit, Masters of Vessels are
cautioned against rounding the Spit with the Light-
houses in line, as recommended by the published
directions. Until further notice, the Spit is to be
rounded with the Lighthouse at Cape Moreton open
to the northward of the Yellow Patch Lighthouse,
a space equal to half the difference between their
heights.
