of Saint Michael and Saint George,
Governor and Commander-in-Chief in
and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-
Admiral of the same, at the Government
House, at Wellington; and issued under
the Seal of the said Colony, this ninth day
of September, in the year of our Lord one
thousand eight hundred and sixty-nine.

Superintendent of the Province of Auckland, all the
powers vested in the Governor by the said recited
section of "The Gold Fields Act Amendment Act,
1868," to have, hold, and exercise within the Province
of Auckland, the said powers hereby delegated to the
said John Williamson, so long as he shall continue
and remain Superintendent of the said Province, and
no longer: Provided always that no Proclamation
affecting any lands shall be made by the said John
Williamson under the powers hereby delegated to
him, unless the Governor shall have obtained power
to authorize entry on such lands for mining for gold,
in the manner required by the said Act.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this
ninth day of September, 1869.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by the seventeenth section of "The
Public Revenues Act, 1867," it is provided
that it shall be lawful for the Governor in Council,
to direct that any money in the Public Account to
credit of the Public Trust Fund shall be invested at
interest with any bank or banks or otherwise, upon
such terms, and at such interest and for such
periods, as the Colonial Treasurer shall think fit:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor, by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of New Zealand, doth hereby direct that the
sum of fifteen thousand pounds, out of the moneys
payable to the Public Account to the credit of the
Public Trust Fund, shall be invested in Debentures
issued under "The Consolidated Loan Act, 1867."

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by "The Gold Fields Act Amend-
ment Act, 1868," it is enacted that it shall be
lawful for the Governor, if and whenever he shall
have by lease, agreement, or otherwise, by consent of
the Native owners of any land over which the Native
title has been extinguished, or the Native owners of
any land over which the Native title has not been
extinguished, obtained power from such Native or
other owners to authorize entry on such lands for
mining for gold, by Proclamation issued under the
third section of "The Gold Fields Act, 1866," to
include such land within any Gold Field, or to pro-
claim such land a Gold Field: And by the said Act
it is further enacted that it shall be lawful for the
Governor in Council, under his hand and the Public
Seal of the Colony, from time to time to delegate to
the Superintendent of any Province, or to such other
person as the Governor may deem fit, all or any of
the powers vested in the Governor by the preceding
sections of the said Act (including the above-recited
sections), subject or not to any limitations or restric-
tions as the Governor may think fit:
Now, therefore, His Excellency Sir George Fergu-
son Bowen, the Governor of New Zealand, with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council of the
Colony, in pursuance and exercise of the power for
that purpose vested in him by the said Act, doth
hereby delegate to

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this
ninth day of September, 1869.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS it is enacted by "The Customs Duties
Act Amendment Act, 1861," that it shall be
lawful for the Governor, by any Order in Council,
from time to time to declare that any Wine, Ale,
Beer, or Spirits may be delivered out of Bond without
payment of Duties of Customs, for the consumption
of the Officers of Her Majesty's Troops in the Colony
of New Zealand, and the Officers of Her Majesty's
Navy serving on board any of Her Majesty's Ships
in the seas adjoining thereto, subject nevertheless
to such Regulations as in any such Order in Council
shall be prescribed, and may from time to time, by
any further Order in Council, amend or alter any
such Order: And whereas an Order was made in
Council, in exercise of the said power, on the tenth
day of January, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-
seven, directing that Wine only might be delivered
out of Bond as aforesaid without payment of Duties
of Customs, and it is expedient to make alterations
in the privileges thereby granted:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor, with
the advice and consent of the Executive Council of
New Zealand, doth hereby revoke the before-
mentioned Order in Council, and doth order and
declare that Wine, Ale, Beer, and Spirits may be
delivered out of Bond, without payment of Duties of
Customs, for the consumption of any Military or
Naval Mess, upon the certificate of the President that
such Wine, Ale, Beer, and Spirits are for Mess con-
sumption; also to the General or other Officer com-
manding each Station, upon the certificate of a like
character from any Officer of his or their Staff; and
to other Officers upon the presentation of a similar
certificate, signed by an Officer appointed by the
Officer commanding the Troops. The certificate in
all cases to be countersigned as approved by the
senior Officer of the Station or Ship, and to state that
the articles required are for the use of the persons
for whom remission of Duty is applied for.

NOTICE to Holders of Wanganui Bridge De-
bentures, issued by the Provincial Government
of Wellington:-
Whereas an Act of the Superintendent and Pro-
vincial Council of the Province of Wellington, Session
X., No. 6, was passed, intituled "An Act to authorize
the construction of a Bridge over the Wanganui River
and levying of Tolls on Traffic over the same:" And
whereas, under and by virtue of the authority of the
said Act, the sum of Β£16,000 was raised for the
