IT is hereby notified that His Excellency the
Governor has assented to the Proclamations issued
under the Diseased Cattle Acts by His Honor the
Superintendent of Canterbury, dated respectively the
3rd and 20th February, 1869, and published in the
New Zealand Gazette, No. 9, of 19th February, 1869,
and No. 12, of 2nd March, 1869.

to be Resident Magistrates for the Resident Magis-
trate's District of Blenheim, and
WALTER HIPPOLITE PILLIET, Esq.,
to be a Resident Magistrate for the Resident Magis-
trate's District of Kaikoura, as the same are defined
by a Proclamation dated the 12th instant, and to
direct that such appointments shall date from the 1st
proximo.

In the Taranaki Militia.
Frederick Charles Rowan to be Captain. Date of
commission, 4th March, 1869.
Ensign Charles Wilson Hursthouse to be Lieutenant.
Date of commission, 23rd February, 1869.

In the Wanganui Militia.
Robert Charles Earle, M.R.C.S.E., to be Assistant-
Surgeon. Date of commission, 9th March, 1869.

In the Napier Militia.
Major Edward Lister Green has been placed on the
unattached list.

In the Kai-Iwi Cavalry Volunteers.
John Bryce to be Captain. Date of commission,
10th March, 1869.
Cornet Roland Garrett to be Lieutenant. Date of
commission, 10th March, 1869.
