NOTICE. - The attention of holders of leases for
terms of seven years and over of lands liable to
the duties imposed by "The Native Lands Act, 1865,"
is directed to the provisions contained in the twenty-
fourth and twenty-fifth sections of "The Native
Lands Act Amendment Act, 1867," whereby such
duties are made payable by instalments on the first
day of January in each year; and if any instalment
shall be in arrear for three months after the first day
of January on which such instalment shall be
payable, the whole amount of duty payable for the
whole term becomes recoverable by the Colonial
Treasurer, and the lessee may also become liable to
pay a penalty equal to three times the amount of the
duty unpaid.
