SCHEDULE.
All that piece of land situate at Kaiapoi, in the
Province of Canterbury, being a portion of Native
Reserve numbered one in the Mandeville District,
bounded as follows: - Towards the North 350 links
by a section numbered 122 on the plan of the said
reserve; towards the East and South by the foot of
the Sand Hills forming the south-eastern boundary
of the said reserve; and towards the West by the
Main North Road, 5,200 links.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this
nineteenth day of August, 1868.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by "The Gold Fields Act, 1866," it
is amongst other things enacted that it shall
be lawful for the Governor, by Order in Council,
from time to time to constitute for any Gold Field,
or for any part thereof, Wardens' Courts, for the
administration of justice therein, and to appoint
Wardens of such Courts, with power to act alone or
with assessors, and in such manner, and to exercise
all or any of the powers thereinafter mentioned, as
the Governor shall think fit to direct:
Now therefore, His Excellency the Governor, by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of the Colony, doth hereby, in pursuance
and exercise of the power and authority vested in
him for this purpose, appoint
ALFRED JULIUS SICKLER, Esq.,
to be a Warden of all Wardens' Courts now con-
stituted or hereafter to be constituted within the
Gold Fields of the Province of Marlborough, with
power to him to act alone or with assessors, and to
exercise all or any of the powers vested in or imposed
on Judges of Wardens' Courts.

IT is hereby notified that Her Majesty's Principal
Secretary of State for the Colonies has in-
structed His Excellency the Governor to recognize,
provisionally, the appointment of
DANIEL MCINTYRE, Esq.,
as Consular Agent, at Wellington, for the United
States Government.

HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to
grant Letters Patent under "The Patent Act,
1860," in favour of John Duley, Mechanic, Evan
Prosser, Chemist, and Thomas Robert Proctor,
Jeweller, all of Hokitika, in the County of West-
land, for an invention for "better and more effectually
Extracting, by amalgamation and otherwise, Gold
and other Metals from black sand and other earths."

the following appointment, made by his Honor
the Superintendent of Canterbury in pursuance of
the powers delegated to him under the Diseased Cattle
Acts, has been assented to by His Excellency the
Governor, in accordance with the provisions of "The
Diseased Cattle Act Amendment Act, 1865":-

to be an Inspector under the Diseased Cattle Acts.
