the powers and authorities vested in him by the said
Act, unto any person or persons, for any period, and
bject to any regulations, restrictions, or stipula-
tions, which may be specified in such Order, and
every such delegation may from time to time alter or
revoke, and also that any such delegation may be so
made to any person holding office in or under the
General Government of New Zealand, or in or under
any Provincial Government thereof, by the title of
his office and may be therein expressed to be made to
such officer and his successors in such office, and
when so expressed to be made, the powers and
authorities thereby delegated shall from time to time,
until revocation thereof, be held and exercised only
by the person for the time being holding such office
and no other person:

Now therefore, His Excellency the Governor, by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of the Colony, doth hereby delegate unto the
MARINE ENGINEER FOR THE COLONY,
and his successors in office, the powers conferred
on him by section eighteen of the said Act, to
exempt from pilotage such colonial trading vessels
as to him shall seem proper to be so exempted in all
cases in which such vessels require to be exempted
for the ports of more than one Province.

W HEREAS by "The Marine Act, 1867," it is
enacted that the Governor may by Order in
Council, from time to time, delegate all or any of
the powers and authorities vested in him by the said
Act, unto any person or persons, for any period, and
subject to any regulations, restrictions, or stipula-
tions which may be specified in such Order, and
every such delegation may from time to time alter or
revoke, and also that any such delegation may be so
made to any person holding office in or under the
General Government of New Zealand, or in or under
any Provincial Government thereof, by the title of
his office, and may be therein expressed to be made
to such officer and his successors in such office, and

THE SUPERINTENDENT OF THE PROVINCE OF
OTAGO, and his successors in such office,
THE SUPERINTENDENT OF THE PROVINCE OF
SOUTHLAND, and his successors in such office,
such of the powers vested in me as Governor by
section seven of the said Act as enable me to erect,
superintend, and maintain harbour marks, buoys,
lights, and beacons, within the limits of any port or
the approaches thereto, in the Province of which for
the time being he or any such successor shall be
Superintendent, subject however to such directions
as may from time to time be issued by the Colonial
Marine Engineer, as to the size, position, and colour
of such harbour marks, buoys, lights, and beacons;
and do also delegate to the Superintendent of the
Province of Auckland, and his successors in such
office, the Superintendent of the Province of Taranaki,
and his successors in such office, the Superintendent
of the Province of Hawke's Bay, and his successors
in such office, the Superintendent of the Province of
Wellington, and his successors in such office, the
Superintendent of the Province of Nelson, and his
successors in such office, the Superintendent of the
Province of Marlborough, and his successors in such
office, the Superintendent of the Province of Canter-
bury, and his successors in such office, the Superin-
tendent of the Province of Otago, and his successors
in such office, and the Superintendent of the Province
of Southland, and his successors in such office, within
the Province of which for the time being he is or any
of his successors shall be Superintendent, the powers
vested in me by sections twelve, thirteen, seventeen,
and forty-two of the said Act, to have and exercise
the said powers hereby delegated so long only as
each such Superintendent, or any such successor in
office shall continue and remain Superintendent of
the said Province, and no longer.
