THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.

Present:
in the New Zealand Gazette on the twenty-first day of
December last, constituted Resident Magistrates'
Districts with such boundaries as in the said pro-
clamation are defined. And whereas it is expedient
that the jurisdiction of the Resident Magistrate
Courts within the districts mentioned in the first
Schedule hereto should be extended to the limit of
one hundred pounds, and the jurisdiction of the
Resident Magistrates' Courts within the districts
mentioned in the second Schedule hereto should be
extended to fifty pounds:

Now therefore, I, Sir George Grey, K.C.B., the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in
pursuance and exercise of the power and authority
in me vested in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and
declare that the limit of jurisdiction of the Resident
Magistrates' Courts of such of the said districts so
constituted as aforesaid as are specified in the
first Schedule hereto shall from and after the twenty-
second day of January instant be extended to one
hundred pounds; and I do further proclaim and
declare that the limit of jurisdiction of the Resident
Magistrates' Courts of such of the said districts
so constituted as aforesaid as are specified in the
second Schedule hereto, shall from and after the same
date, be extended to fifty pounds.

George Grey, Knight Commander of
the Most Honorable Order of the Bath,
Governor and Commander-in-Chief in
and over Her Majesty's Colony of
New Zealand and its Dependencies, and
issued under the seal of the said Colony,
at Wellington, this twentieth day of
January, in the year of our Lord one
thousand eight hundred and sixty-eight.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, the
eighth day of January, 1868.

THE PRESIDENT AND MEMBERS OF THE EXECUTIVE
COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by "The Marine Act, 1867," it is
provided that all delegations of authority made
pursuant to or kept on foot by "The Marine Act,
1866," and in force up to the time of "The Marine
Act, 1867," coming into operation shall continue in
force as if made under "The Marine Act, 1867,"
until revoked or altered under the authority of the
last-mentioned Act. And it is enacted that the
Governor may by Order in Council, from time to
time, delegate all or any of the powers and authorities
vested in him by the said last-mentioned Act, unto
any person or persons, and every such delegation
may from time to time alter or revoke:

Now therefore, His Excellency the Governor, by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of the Colony, doth by this Order in Council,
revoke all delegations of authority made pursuant
to or kept on foot by "The Marine Act, 1866,"
and in force up to the time of the making of this
Order.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

THE PRESIDENT AND MEMBERS OF THE EXECUTIVE
COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by "The Marine Act, 1867," it is
enacted that the Governor may by Order in
Council, from time to time, delegate all or any of
the powers and authorities vested in him by the said
Act, unto any person or persons, for any period, and
subject to any regulations, restrictions, or stipula-
tions, which may be specified in such Order, and
every such delegation may from time to time alter or
revoke, and also that any such delegation may be so
made to any person holding office in or under the
General Government of New Zealand, or in or under
any Provincial Government thereof, by the title of
his office and may be therein expressed to be made to
such officer and his successors in such office, and
when so expressed to be made, the powers and
authorities thereby delegated shall from time to time,
until revocation thereof, be held and exercised only
by the person for the time being holding such office
and no other person:

Now therefore, His Excellency the Governor, by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of the Colony, doth hereby delegate unto
the Honorable the Postmaster-General of New
Zealand and his successors in office all the powers
vested in him by sections nine, twenty-two, and
twenty-three of the said Act.
