New Plymouth, 14th April, 1866.
I, the undersigned, the owner of No. 24 Reserve,
have agreed that the said Reserve shall be brought
under the provisions of "The Native Reserves
Amendment Act, 1862."

I, ROBERT PARRIS, a person duly appointed in
this behalf, under the provisions of "The New
Zealand Native Reserves Act, 1856," hereby certify
and report that I have ascertained that the aboriginal
inhabitants entitled to the piece or parcel of land
described in the Schedule hereunder written have
assented that the said piece or parcel of land shall be
subject to the provisions of the said Act.
As witness my hand, this 14th day of April,
1866.

SCHEDULE above referred to.
All that piece of land situate at Ararepi, Grey
Block, bounded on the North by Barrett's Reserve
C. and a roadway 3780 links; towards the East by
the Cowling Road, and part of the said Native
Reserve No. 2, 5390 links; towards the South by
part of the said Native Reserve No. 2, and a road-
way, 3780 links; and towards the West by Native
Reserve No. 5, 5390 links, excepting and reserving
the Cowling Road through the same.
Report adopted this first day of August, 1866, with
the advice and consent of the Executive Council of
the Colony.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, the
first day of August, 1866.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by an Act of the General Assembly
of New Zealand, intituled "The Native
Reserves Amendment Act 1862," it is amongst other
things provided, that where under the provisions of
"The Native Reserves Act, 1856," the assent of the
aboriginal inhabitants is required to bringing land
under the operation of the said "Native Reserves
Act, 1856," the Governor may, by Order in Council,
declare such assent to have been ascertained, and
thereupon the title of the aboriginal inhabitants in
the land to which the same shall relate shall be
deemed to be extinguished, and the land shall from
the date of such Order in Council, vest in Her
Majesty, for the purposes and subject to the pro-
visions of the said "Native Reserves Act, 1856," as
altered by the recited Act, and that as effectually as
if the same had been ceded and conveyed by such
aboriginal inhabitants to Her Majesty:
Now therefore, His Excellency the Governor, by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council, doth hereby declare that the assent of the
aboriginal inhabitants to the bringing the piece of land
described in the Schedule hereunder written under
the operation of "The Native Reserves Act, 1856,"
has been ascertained.

SCHEDULE.
All that piece of land situate at the Eastern
extremity of the Otago Peninsula, bounded on the
West by the Portobello district, on the East partly
by the Pilot Station and partly by the ocean, on the
South and South-east by the ocean, and on the
North by the waters of the lower Harbour of Otago.

I, J. F. RIEMENSCHNEIDER, a person duly
appointed in this behalf, under the provisions
of "The New Zealand Native Reserves Act, 1856,"
hereby certify and report that I have ascertained
that the aboriginal inhabitants entitled to the piece
or parcel of land described in the Schedule hereunder
written, have assented that the said piece or parcel
of land shall be subject to the provisions of the said
Act.
As witness my hand, this 14th day of June,
1866.
