of the Militia and Volunteers, and to have
the local rank of Lieutenant-Colonel whilst
holding such command. Date of Commission,
19th July, 1865.

NOTICE is hereby given that
THOMAS JOHN MOUNTAIN,
Lambton Quay, Wellington, has been duly licensed
under clause 16 of "The Customs Regulation Act,
1858," to act as a Custom House Agent at the Port
of Wellington, until the 31st December, 1865.

Notice.

NOTICE is hereby given that a Court will shortly
be held at New Plymouth for the purpose of
hearing and determining the claims of persons to
compensation on account of the taking under the
authority of "The New Zealand Settlements Act,
1863," of the blocks of land in the Province of
Taranaki hereunder described. The day on which
the Court will sit will be published in a future Notice.

Waitara South.

All that block of land at Taranaki, bounded on the
north by the sea; on the east by the Waitara River,
from its mouth to the junction of the Manganui
River; on the south by a straight line from the
junction of the Manganui and Waitara Rivers to
Tururutongi on the Waiongona River; and on the
west by a straight line to the sea at Waitaha,
excepting lands within the above-described boundaries
held under grants from the Crown.

Oakura.

Bounded on the north by the sea; on the east by
the Omata Block, from the sea to where the boundary
of the Omata Block is cut by the Native path running
between the Patua and Ponakai Ranges, thence by
a straight line running between the two above-
mentioned ranges till it cuts the Hangatahua River
thence by the Hangatahua to the sea, except the
block of land known by the name of the Tataraimaka
Block.
