AUCKLAND DISTRICT.
Bounded on the North by the mid-channel of the
Kaipara Harbour, by the Tapora mid-channel to the
Hoteo River, and by the Hoteo River to its junction
with the Kaitoto River, by a line thence southward
to the south-west corner of the Ahuroa Block, thence
by a line to the source of the Pukapuka Creek,
thence by the centre of that Creek to Mahurangi
Harbour, North Head; on the East, by the sea from
Mahurangi North Head to the Wairoa River; on
the South, by the Wairoa River, by Hewling's line,
by the Eastern and Northern boundaries of the
Village of Papakura, by the centre of the Papakura
Creek, and by the North shore of Manukau Harbour,
from Papakura Creek to the Heads; and on the
West by the sea from Manukau to Kaipara Heads,
the point of commencement, including the Islands
of Rangitoto, Motutapu, Waiheke, Ponui, Pakihi,
Brown's Island, Motuihi (or Taylor's Island), Tiritiri-
matangi, Motuwhora, Motuketa, Motuaireka, Te
Kawau, the Great and Little Barriers, Weeks' Island,
and all Islands lying on the West side of the Frith
of the Thames, with the Fanal Islands and the Saddle
Islands.
CAMBRIDGE DISTRICT.
Bounded on the North by a straight line from
Puketakauri on the Waikato River to the junction of
the Tahunatapu Creek with the Piako River; on the
East by the Piako River southward to the Waita-
kururu Creek, thence by a straight line to the
junction of the Orakeikorako stream with the Waikato
River, and by the Waikato southward to Taupo
Lake; on the South by the northern shore of Taupo
Lake; and on the West by a straight line from the
most westerly point of the Taupo Lake to Kihikihi,
and thence by a straight line to Puketa on the
Waikato River, and thence by the Waikato River to
Puketa Kauri the point of commencement.
DRURY DISTRICT.
Bounded on the North by the waters of the
Manukau Harbour, and by the centre of the Papa-
kura Creek, by the Northern and Eastern boundaries
of the Village of Papakura, by Hewling's line to the
Wairoa River, crossing the Wairoa River, it follows
that river down to the sea; on the East, by the Gulf
of the Thames, by the Piako River to the junction
of the Tahunatapu Creek; on the South, by a straight
line from the mouth of the Tahunatapu Creek to
Puketakauri, on the Waikato River, thence across
that river in a straight line to the South shore of
the Wangape Lake, and thence in a straight line
running west-south-west to the West Coast; on the
West by the sea from the last mentioned point, to
Manukau Heads, the point of commencement.
And I do declare that this Proclamation shall come
into operation and take effect on the 15th day of
February, 1865.
Given under my hand, at the Government
House, at Auckland, and issued under
the Seal of the Colony of New Zealand,
this thirtieth day of January, in the
year of Our Lord One Thousand Eight
Hundred and Sixty-five.

RAGLAN DISTRICT.
Bounded on the North by the southern shore of
the Wangape Lake, and by a straight line running
west south-west from the western angle of the
Wangape Lake to the West Coast; on the West by
the sea, southward to the Mokau River; on the
South by the Mokau River, from the mouth to the
source; and on the East by a straight line, from the
source of the Mokau River to the summit of Pirongia,
and by a straight line from the summit of Pirongia,
to the Wangape Lake, at the point of commence-
ment.
Proclamation declaring Districts under Marriage Act.
By His Excellency Sir GEORGE GREY, Knight
Commander of the Most Honorable
Order of the Bath, Governor and Com-
mander-in-Chief in and over Majesty's
Colony of New Zealand and its Depen-
dencies and Vice Admiral of the same,
&c., &c., &c.
THAMES DISTRICT.
Bounded on the North by the sea, from the mouth
of the Piako River, to the mouth of the Wangamata
Harbour; on the East by a straight line, from the
mouth of the Wangamata Harbour, to the summit of
Te Aroha, thence by a straight line to Mata Mata;
on the South by a straight line from Mata Mata, to
the junction of the Waitakururu Creek with the
Piako River; on the West by the Piako River to the
sea, at the point of commencement, including Whan-
ganui, Waimate, Motutaupiri, and Rangipuke
Islands.
WHEREAS by the "Marriage Act Amendment
Act, 1858," it is enacted that it shall be law-
ful for the Governor at any time, by Proclamation
in the New Zealand Gazette, to divide the
Colony of New Zealand, for the purposes of the
said Act, into such and so many Districts as he may
think fit, and that every such District shall be called
by a distinct name, and shall be a Registrar's Dis-
trict; and it is provided that the Governor may at
any time revoke the whole or any part of such Pro-
clamation, and issue a new Proclamation, dividing the
Colony, or any part of it, anew into Districts, or
increasing the number or altering the boundaries of
Districts, as from time to time he may think
requisite:
TAURANGA DISTRICT.
And whereas by two Proclamations, duly made and
issued, bearing date respectively, the sixth day of
July, 1859, and the ninth day of August, 1860, the
Governor, in pursuance of the said recited power
and authority, did create certain Districts:
Bounded on the North by the sea; on the East
by the Wakatane River to its source, and thence in
a straight line running South, to the southern boun-
dary of the Province; on the South by the boundary
of the Province, to the Upper Waikato River; and
on the West by the Upper Waikato River and
Eastern shore of Taupo Lake, and by the Waikato
River northward, to the junction of the Orakeikorako
And whereas it is expedient to alter the boundaries
of some of those Districts, and to increase the num-
ber thereof:
Now, therefore, I, Sir George Grey, the Governor
of the said Colony, do hereby, in pursuance and
further exercise of the power and authority vested
in me by the said recited Act, revoke the said two
Proclamations, so far as they relate to the territory
comprised in the Districts of Auckland, Drury,
Raglan, Thames, Tauranga, Turanga, and Rangiao-
whia, and do proclaim and declare that such territory
shall be divided, for the purposes of the said Act,
into Eight Districts; the names and boundaries
whereof shall be as follows:-----
