THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.
under his hand, dated the second day of January, One thousand eight hundred and sixty-five, His Excellency the Governor did appoint David Limond Murdoch, Alexander Kennedy, James Williamson, and Robert Waterston, jointly, and each of them severally, to be Agents and Agent in Australia and New Zealand for raising the further sum of Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand Pounds, part of the said sum of One Million Pounds authorised to be raised as aforesaid, and for signing and issuing Debentures under the provisions of the said recited Act:
Now, therefore, I, Sir George Grey, the Governor as aforesaid, in further exercise of the said power and authority, do hereby appoint that there shall be borrowed and raised under the authority of the said Act the sum of Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand Pounds, the residue of the said sum of One Million Pounds sterling; and that the same shall be raised by Debentures, in the form hereunder written, in sums of not less in amount than Twenty Pounds nor more than One Thousand Pounds, at the discretion of the Agent or Agents; and that the same shall bear interest at the rate of Eight Pounds per centum per annum; and that Frederick Aloysius Weld, William Fitzherbert, Henry Sewell, John Larkins Cheese Richardson, Walter Baldock Durrant Mantell, and Harry Albert Atkinson, jointly, and each of them severally, shall be the Agents and Agent in New Zealand for raising such sum of Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand Pounds, and for signing and issuing such Debentures. And I do hereby direct that Coupons in the form hereunder written may be appended to the said Debentures or not, as such Agents or Agent in their or his discretion shall think fit. And I do direct that such Agents or Agent shall have all the powers under the said Act in reference to the raising the said sum of Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand Pounds.
