been pleased to assent to the same.

pleased to delegate, under the "Waste
Lands Act, 1858," to the Superintendent of
the Province of Auckland, the powers vested
in the Governor by section 14 of the said Act,
subject to be rescinded as in the said Act
provided.

pleased to delegate, under the "Diseased
Cattle Act, 1860," to the Superintendent of
the Province of Auckland, the several powers
vested in the Governor by the 2nd, 4th, 5th,
7th, 9th, and 10th sections of the said Act,
subject to be rescinded as in the said Act pro-
vided, and subject to the Regulations contained
in the Order in Council dated 15th Sept.,
1862.

the International Exhibition, I beg to en-
close his letter to me on the closing of the
Building on 1st instant, from which you will
observe I am desired to communicate the sub-
stance of it to the Government of New Zea-
land.

DEAR SIR, Although the concluding cere-
mony of the International Exhibition will not,
as you have already been informed, take place
till the month of January next,-I cannot
allow the day on which the Building is vir-
tually closed to the Public to pass away without
congratulating you in my own name, and on
behalf of my colleagues, on the results which
have attended the labours of your Commission,
to the several Members of which we beg to
offer our cordial thanks for the invaluable as-
sistance which they have rendered to us in
carrying this great undertaking to a successful
issue.
We received, in the first instance, with
much satisfaction, the announcement of the
nomination of the distinguished body se-
lected by your Government to represent the
interests of their country; and now, at the
close of the Exhibition, we cannot express too
warmly our gratitude for the manner in which,
while loyally maintaining these interests, your
Commission has supported us in our endea-
vours to promote the general efficiency and
success of the Exhibition.
We have, moreover, much pleasure in
thinking that, in no single instance, from the
time when we first entered into communication
with you has any misunderstanding arisen to
