Appointing District of Porirua under the
Native Districts Regulation Act.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by an Act of the General
Assembly of New Zealand, intituled
"The Native Districts Regulation Act,
1858," it is provided that it shall be lawful for
the Governor in Council from time to time to
appoint Districts for the purposes of the said
Act, being Districts over which the Native
Title shall not for the time being have been
extinguished :
Now therefore, His Excellency the Governor,
by and with the advice and consent of his
Executive Council, doth hereby Order, appoint,
and declare that the Territory hereafter des-
cribed shall be a District for the purposes of
the said Act, that is to say: All Territory
bounded towards the North by the Manuwatu
District as constituted by Order in Council of
even date herewith, towards the East by the
Tararua and Rimutaka Ranges, towards the
West by the coast line between the Kuku-
tauaki stream and Pipinui Point, and towards
the South East by a line from Pipinui Point
to the Rimutaka Range, including the island of
Mana: excepting all lands over which the
Native Title has been extinguished within the
meaning of the said Act.
And doth appoint and declare that the said
District shall be called the Native District of
"Porirua."
And doth declare that this Order shall take
effect from and after the first day of March,
1863.

WARRANT
Defining District of Southland under the
"Sheriff's' Act, 1858."
By His Excellency Sir GEORGE
GREY, Knight Commander of
the Most Honorable Order of
the Bath, Governor and Com-
mander-in-Chief in and over
Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies,
and Vice-Admiral of the same,
&c., &c., &c.
WHEREAS by the "Sheriffs' Act, 1858,"
the Governor is empowered in the
manner therein mentioned to appoint fit persons
to be Sheriffs of the several Districts of the
Colony of New Zealand, and from time to time
to define the Districts within which such
Sheriffs shall respectively have jurisdiction,
and every such definition to revoke or amend
and the limits of such Districts to alter as oc-
casion may require : Now, therefore, I, Sir
George Grey, the Governor of the said Colony,
in pursuance of the power and authority in me
vestsd, do hereby define the District of South-
land under the said Act to be all the Territory
comprised within the Province of Southland.
