THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.

Mount Benger, on the East by the Waiko-
waiti and Tokomairiro Districts, on the South
by the Ocean, on the West by the Mataura
river and Wakaia and Wendon branches,
thence by the watershed to Black Umbrella
Mountain.

Invercargill District.
Comprises all that area bounded on the
Waikowaiti and Warepa Districts, on the South
North by Oamaru District, on the East by
by the Ocean, and on the West by the Wai-
matuku creek, thence by the watershed to
Bogburn, thence by the Bogburn, thence by
the watershed of the Taringakura Downs to
the Aparima at its junction with Hamilton
burn, thence by the Aparima to its source,
thence by the watershed of the Takitimo
Mountains, thence by the boundary of Runs
173 and 174, thence by the Waiau to its
source, thence by the watershed of the Snowy
Mountains to Oamaru District.

Riverton District.
Comprises all that area bounded on the
North by the Awarua river, on the East by
Oamaru and Invercargill Districts, on the
South and West by the Ocean.

And I declare that this Proclamation shall
come into operation and take effect on and
from the First day of May, One thousand
eight hundred and sixty-one.

Given under my hand, at the Go-
vernment House, at Auckland,
and issued under the Seal of the
Colony of New Zealand, this
twenty-first day of February,
in the year of Our Lord, One
thousand eight hundred and
sixty-one.

HIS Excellency the Governor has been
pleased to appoint the following per-
sons to be, on and from the first day of May
next, Registrars under "The Registration
Act, 1858," for the Districts set opposite
their respective names, as those Districts are
severally described in a Proclamation bearing
date the 21st February, 1861.

Dunedin-John Gillies
Waikowaiti-Francis Franks
Oamaru-Charles Trail
North Taieri-Alexander Gardner
East Taieri-John Hislop
Tokomairiro-Alexander Ayson
Warepa-William Watkin Waite
Invercargill-Matthew Price
Riverton-Benjamin Bailey.

Until the first of May next, the arrange-
ments with respect to the Districts of Dun-
edin, Waitangi, Taieri, and Invercargill, as
those Districts are described in a Proclama-
tion bearing date the 6th July, 1859, and the
appointments of Registrars to those Districts
respectively, as notified in the Government
Gazette, No. 21, 6th July, 1859, will con-
tinue in force.

Hodgson, resigned. Date of commission,

5th, or Motueka Company.
RICHARD SUTCLIFFE to be Lieutenant, vice
Charles Pocock, resigned. Date of com-
mission, 14th February, 1861.
GEORGE HARDING to be Ensign, vice Graham
Greenwood, resigned. Date of commis-
sion, 14th February, 1861.

Superintendent and Provincial Council
of Otago, intituled
"Appropriation Ordinance, 1860 and 1861,"
