Attorney-General's Office,
Auckland, 14th February, 1861.

THE Governor desires that the attention of
Justices of the Peace should be called
to the following section of the "Justices of
the Peace Act, 1858."

"The fees to be taken under the said Act
shall be fixed, varied and abolished as the
Governor in Council shall from time to time
direct and appoint, and shall be paid as the
Governor shall from time to time direct, to
the Colonial Treasurer for the use of Her
Majesty for public uses of the Colony."

And His Excellency has directed that such
fees shall be paid at the expiration of every
quarter to the Colonial Treasurer directly or
through the Suo-Treasurer of the District in
which they may be collected.

Auckland, 19th February, 1861.

IN conformity with the 7th Clause of the
"Gold Fields Act, 1858," it is hereby
notified that it is intended to grant Leases for
Gold Mining purposes on the Crown Lands
specified in the following applications.

HENRY JOHN TANCRED.

No. 26.
Applicant—Samuel Samuels.
Locality—Doctor's Creek.
Area—Ten Acres.
In a rectangular block; bounded towards
the North by a line bearing East, 500 links,
towards the East by a line bearing South,
2000 links, towards the South by a line bear-
ing West, 500 links, and towards the West
by a line bearing North, 2000 links; the
South-Western angle being marked by a
peg.

No. 27.
Applicant—William Haldane.
Locality—Scott's Gully, Waikaramumu.
Area—Five Acres.
In a rectilinear block; bounded towards
the North by a line bearing East, 1250 links,
towards the South-East by a line bearing
S.W. 208°, 300 links, towards the South
by a line bearing S.W. 260°, 1350 links,
and towards the North-West by a line bearing
N.E. 28°, 500 links; the South-Western
angle being marked by a peg.

No. 28.
Applicants—Joseph Pagitt and James
Wilson.
Locality—Victoria Valley, Kaituna.
Area—Three Acres.
In a rectilinear block; bounded towards
the North by a line bearing N.E. 82°, 300
links, towards the East by a line bearing S.E.
174°, 1075 links, towards the South by a
line bearing S.W. 266°, 250 links, and
towards the West by a line bearing N.W.
351°, 1100 links; the South-Eastern angle
being marked by a tree.

A TRUE and PERFECT SCHEDULE of all BALANCES paid into the Treasury of the Colony of New Zealand, at Auckland, from the 1st day of October,
1860, on account of DECEASED PERSONS' ESTATES, Administered by THOMAS OUTHWAITE, Esquire, Registrar of the Supreme Court of New
Zealand, as Official Administrator.
