NO 2 COMPANY.
To comprise all those liable to serve as
Militiamen, whose places of abode for the time
being are-
Within a line commencing at Kelly's public
house, thence S. following the road along the
Eastern side of Captain Symond's property
and on in a straight line to high water mark
on the Manukau, thence W. along high water
mark to the Whau Portage, thence N. along
the Portage road to the Whau Bridge, thence
Northward along high water mark of
the Whau River, Waitunata Harbour
and the scoria creek to the Bridge on the
Karangahape road, thence along that road to its
junction with the Cabbage Tree Swamp road,
thence E. along that road to the scoria quarry
road, thence S. E. along that to the Three Kings
road, thence S. along that road, and following
the Eastern, Northern, and again the Eastern
boundaries of the Wesleyan Mission Estate to
the road leading Eastward to Kelly's public
house, thence E. along that road to the com-
mencing point.

NO 3 COMPANY.
To comprise all those liable to serve as
Militiamen, whose places of abode for the time
being are-
Within a line commencing at Kelly's public
house, thence N.E. along the road to Lundon's
public house, thence N.W. along the Great
South Road to Newell's public house, thence
along the Epsom Road to its junction with the
Kyber pass road, thence W. along that road
to the scoria quarry road, thence S.W. and S.
along that road and the Three Kings' road,
thence South along that road, and following
the Eastern, Northern, and again the Eastern
boundaries of the Wesleyan Mission Estate,
to the road leading Eastward to Kelly' public
house, thence E. along that road to the com-
mencing point.

Nos. 4 AND 5 COMPANIES.
To comprise all those liable to serve as
Militiamen, whose places of abode for the time
being are
Westward of the Whau Portage Road,
Whau Bridge, Whau River and Waitemata
Harbour, and within a circle having a radius of
twenty miles from the Police Office at Auck-
land, and who are to assemble respectively
either at Henderson's Mills, or at the Huia, as
they may find either post most convenient to
their own residences.

Y virtue and in exercise of the authority
in me vested, I, Thomas Gore Browne, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do
hereby appoint and declare that the 3rd, or
Otahuhu Battalion, shall be formed into five
Companies, as follows, viz.:-

3RD BATTALION.
No. 1 COMPANY
To comprise all those liable to serve as
Militiamen whose places of abode for the time
being are--
Within a line commencing at the
end of the Portage Road nearest the
Tamaki River at Otahuhu, thence Westerly
along that road to high-water mark upon the
Manukau, thence Westerly and Southerly
along high-water mark to the seaward end of
the road forming the Southern boundary of
"Clendon's Grant," thence Easterly along the
said road to its termination, thence North-
West along the road bounding the same Grant
on the North-East as far as section 27 A of the
Parish of Manurewa, thence following the
roads on the boundaries of the sections num-
bered 274, 34, and 28 of the Parish of Manu-
rewa, and 129, 128, 127, 122, 121, 119, 108,
41, (part of Styak's land), and 37 of the
Parish of Pakuranga to the Wharau or Paku-
ranga Creek, thence following high-water
mark upon the Tamaki River and its tributary
creeks to the point of commencement.

No. 2 COMPANY.
To comprise all those liable to serve as
Militiamen whose places of abode for the time
being are--
Within a line commencing at the end
of the Portage Road nearest the Tamaki
River at Otahuhu, thence West along
that road to high-water mark upon the Manu-
kau, thence North along high-water mark to
"Anne's Bridge," thence North-West along
the Great South Road to its junction with the
College Road, thence North-East along
that road to St. John's College, thence follow-
ing the roads forming the outer boundaries of
the country sections numbered 5, 6, 11, 12, 17,
18, 19, 21, and 22 of the Parish of Waitemata
to the sea, thence following high-water mark,
round the West head of the Tamaki River, and
crossing that river to the Eastern bank, at the
termination of a road dividing the sections
numbered 4 and 8 of the Parish of Pakuranga,
thence following the roads forming the outer
boundaries of the sections numbered 8, 13, 17,
17A, 17B, 24, 28, and 30 of that Parish to the
Wharau Creek, thence Westward along that
creek, and crossing the Tamaki River, and up
the creek leading to the Portage Road, to the
point of commencement.

No. 3 COMPANY.
To comprise all those liable to serve as
Militiamen whose places of abode for the time
being are-
Within a line commencing at the
junction of the College Road with the
Great South Road, thence North-East
along the College Road to St. John's College,
thence following the roads forming the outer
boundaries of the country sections numbered
26, 25, 24, 23, 21, and 22 of the Parish of
