Claimant. Where situate. Nature of Claim.
James Busby Ngunguru This is a claim for 4000 acres alleged to have been

purchased from the Natives in 1840 on behalf of
claimant, Gilbert Mair and William Lewington.
The claim was notified to the Sydney Government,
by claimant on the 7th January, 1841, but not re-
ferred to the Commissioners for investigation. |
| John Logan Campbell | Waiheki | This is a claim under pre-emption certificate No. 76,
dated 5th December, 1844, in favour of Brown and
Campbell for 300 acres. Commissioner Matson re-
ported 21st May, 1848, that the survey had not been
sent in; claim thereupon disallowed 6th April, 1848. |
| John Logan Campbell | Onehunga | This is a derivative claim under pre-emption certifi-
cate No. 24 in favour of Thomas Jackson. Jackson
sold 50 acres to T. Henry. £43 6s. 11d. was of-
fered by the Government as compensation, and re-
fused. |
| John Logan Campbell | North Head | This is a derivative claim from Henry Tayler (other-
wise Abell) No. 212 and 221a, of H. Tayler and A.
B. Spark. Commissioners Richmond and Godfrey,
in their report 2nd May, 1842, recommended a grant
of 117 acres elsewhere; and in their amended report,
10th November 1843, recommended no grant, the
maximum quantity having been awarded to the claim-
ants. Land scrip for £1000 was granted but not ex-
ercised. £116 10s. compensation offered, but re-
fused. One moiety claimed by Dacre. |
| Ranulph Dacre | North Head | This is a derivative claim from Henry Tayler (other-
Abell) No. 212 and 221a of H. Tayler and A. B.
Spark Commissioners Godfrey and Richmond's
report of 2nd May, 1842, recommended 117 acres
to be granted elsewhere; and in their amended
report, 10th November 1843, recommended no
grant, the maximum quantity having been
awarded. Scrip for £1000 was granted, but not ex-
ercised; subsequently £116 10s. compensation of-
ferred but refused, One moiety claimed by Campbell. |
| Andrew Rooney | Waitemata | This is a derivative claim under preemption certificate
No. 247, dated 12th November, 1845, in favour of
Daniel Clucas, for 800 acres. Claim disallowed
23rd May, 1849. |
| John Nicolson | Kororareka | This was an original claim of J. A. Duvanchelle,
327b. Commissioner Godfrey, 1st December 1842
recommended no grant, claimant not appearing. |
| Arthur Willis | Piako | This was an original claim of W. E. Cormack, No.
73 and 73b. Commissioner Godfrey, 17th June,
1844, reported in favour of claimant for 2560 acres,
provided the boundaries were pointed out by the
Natives. No grant issued. |
| Arthur Willis | Piako | This is a derivative claim 149 of D. F. Macky, who
derived from W. E. Cormack claim No. 73 and 73b.
Commissioner Godfrey, in his report dated 17th
June, 1844, recommended no grant. Cormack
having already received the maximum award of
2560 acres; but no grant issued to Cormack. |
| Arthur Willis | Piako | This is a derivative claim 207b, Gordon Sandeman
who derived from W. E. Cormack 73 and 73b.
Commissioner Godfrey, 17th June 1844, recom-
mended no grant, the maximum quantity having
been already awarded to Cormack; but no grant
issued to him. |
| Arthur Willis | Piako | This was a claim of Gordon Sandeman, 207c., who
derived from W. E Cormack 73 and 73b. Com-
missioner Godfrey, 1st July 1843, recommended no
grant, claimant not appearing. |
| Arthur Willis | Waipuna, Waikato Harbour | This was an original claim of W. E. Cormack, 73d.
Claim not investigated by former Commissioners. |
| Arthur Willis | Hakehake, Waipa | This was an original claim, 207a, of Gordon Sande-
man. Returned by Commissioner Spain, never ad-
vertised for hearing. |
| Arthur Willis | Te Auta | This was an original claim No. 73c, of W. E. Cormack,
and 207e Gordon Sandeman. Returned by Com-
missioner Spain, never advertised for hearing. |
| Arthur Willis | Mangapori | This was an original claim No. 207d of Gordon Sande-
man. Returned by Commissioner Spain, never ad-
vertised for hearing. |
| Arthur Willis | Puketarata, Waipa | This was an original claim of W. E. Cormack, 73a,
and Gordon Sandeman. 207. Returned by Com-
missioner Spain, never advertised for hearing. |
