Commissioner Godfrey 2nd May 1844 recommended
no grant, claimant not having appeared. Excuse
for non-appearance admitted, and notification filed
under the Act. |
| Joseph Newman | Tamaki | This is a claim under Pre-emption Certificate No. 148
dated 16th November, 1844, in favour of Claimant
for 300 acres. Claimant not having come forward
with his witnesses on the day appointed for the
hearing, Commissioner Matson informed the Go-
vernment that he had no report to make on the case.
Claim thereupon disallowed. |
| John Joseph Moore | Head of the Waitemata
river | This is a claim under Pre-emption Certificate No. 71.
dated 5th December, 1844, for 1000 acres in favour
of Claimant. Commissioner Matson reported 13th
May, 1848, that Claimant had not sent in a survey.

Commissioners Richmond and Godfrey 2nd May,
1842, recommended a Grant for 194 acres, or any
other land of average value. Governor Fitzroy or-
dered a Grant to be prepared in respect of Clai ms
No. 77 and 77a for 1448 acres. Not acted upon. |

I, WILLIAM HENRY CUTTEN, a Commissioner duly appointed by virtue of th
Ordinance No. 15, Session 11, of the Legislative Council of the Islands of New Zealand
to hear and decide Claims to land by persons claiming Title thereto from, through, or under the
New Zealand Company, Report that the claim of the person whose name appears in the
Schedule hereunder having been referred to me by his Excellency the Governor, I do hereby
decide that the said person is entitled to the Crown Grants set against her name in the said
Schedule.
