Nature of Claim.
This was an original Land Claim No. 450a. Commis-
sioner Godfrey reported 10th March 1844 in favor
of the Society for 12 acres. Further special Report
as last aforesaid.
This was an original Land Claim No. 450b. Commis-
sioner Godfrey reported 10th March 1844 in favor
of the Society for 150 acres. Further special Report
as last aforesaid.
This was an original Land Claim No: 299n & o Com-
missioner Richmond reported 14th April 1843 in
Favor of the Society for the claim, reserving a suf-
ficient space for a township. Further special report as
last aforesaid. All the land reserved 11th March
1856 by the Surveyor-General, except about twelve
acres. Grant for 12a. 3r. 7p: prepared in August
1856, but not signed.
This was part of an original Land Claim No. 260:
Commissioners Godfrey and Richmond 29th April
1843 recommended no grant, no proof of a certain
transfer from Christopher Holton to B E. Turner
having been produced, and only part of the land
alienated. Claim re-opened by Governor Grey in
November 1846, and a further hearing before the
Resident Magistrate. Grant issued June 1849 for
part of the land.
This was an original Land Claim No. 343r of W. and
F. White. Commissioners Richmond and Godfrey
reported, 30th May 1843 in favour of claimants-
for 2560 acres. In December 1844 Governor
FitzRoy awarded W. White Β£6099 scrip on his part
of the claim, and awarded F. White Β£1901 scrip,
which was not exercised. In March 1848 F. White
applied for a grant, when Government decided he was
only entitled to 1280 acres.
This was an original Land Claim No. 448. Commis-
sioner Richmond reported 18th November 1844 in
favour of claimant for 2560 acres, with certain ex-
ceptions; Report accompanied by a memorandum:
that grants on 449 and 449b should be reduced to
maximum of 2560 acres. No grant yet issued on
449.

PURSUANT to the provisions of the Land Claims Settlement Act, 1856, all persons
interested in or claiming title under any of the Crown Grants specified in the Schedule
hereunto annexed, are hereby, on behalf of Her Majesty, required to produce, or cause to be
produced, such Crown Grants before the Commissioner of Land Claims, at Mangonui, on the
third day of October next.
In default of the above Grants being produced on the day and at the place above mentioned,
(unless the non-production thereof be accounted for to the satisfaction of the said Commissioner,)
the said Grants will, under the provisions of the aforesaid Act, be declared null and void, and
become so to all intents and purposes in like manner as if the same had been repealed in the
Supreme Court by process of scire facias.
