Pilots' Salary be increased £60, that the fur-
ther sum of £70 be appropriared for Buoys
and Lights, and that the sum of £328 15 0 be
granted in lieu of the original sum proposed
for the Department. Agreed to.
The following items were then agreed to, viz:

Government Brig Victoria....... 1500 0 0
On the question being put that the sum of
£200 be granted for the service of the Go-
vernment Schooner Albert. Mr. Kennedy
moved as an amendment that the item be
struck out. Agreed to.
On motion of the Colonial Treasurer, further
consideration of Estimates postponed until
Wednesday, the 28th October.
Mr. Domett moved the order of the day for
2nd reading of Administration of Justice Bill.
Bill read a second time, and ordered to be
considered in committee on Wednesday, the
28th October.
The Attorney General moved, that the or-
der of the day for consideration in committee
of Supreme Court Rules' Bill be adjourned
until Wednesday, the 28th October.
Council adjourned at quarter past four, to
2 oclock on Wednesday, 28th October, 1846.

The Council met pursuant to adjournment.
The Minutes of the last Meeting were read
and confirmed.
The Colonial Treasurer moved the order of
the day for the further consideration in com-
mittee of the Estimates.
The Colonial Secretary moved that the
sum of £175 be appropriated for Customs'
Department, and the sum of £174 10 0 for
Harbor Department at Russell.
On motion of the Colonial Treasurer, the
sum of £3990 6 0 be granted for the Police
Department, Auckland.
On the question being put that the sum of
£604, be granted for Police Magistrates' De-
partment. The Colonial Secretary moved
that it be struck out. Agreed to.
On motion of the Colonial Treasurer, the
following sums appropriated, viz :-
Police Department, Russell... 101 5 0
Ditto Wellington 4193 8 6
On question being put, that the sum of
£255 10 be granted for the Police Depart-
ment, Nelson, Mr. Domett moved, that the
number of privates be increased to six, at 25s.
each per week, and that the sum of £481 5 be
granted in lieu of the original sum proposed.
Agreed to.
On motion of the Colonial Treasurer, the
following items granted, viz :-

On the question being put, that the sum of
£241 5 be granted for the Law Officers, Wel-
lington, the Colonial Treasurer moved, that
the sum of £100 be added to the salary of the
Crown Solicitor. Agreed to.
On motion of Mr. Domett, the sum of £200
appropriated for the Crown Solicitor and Regis-
trar of Deeds at Nelson.
On motion of the Colonial Treasurer, the
following sums granted, viz:

On the question being put that the sum of
£478 2 6 be granted for Gaol at Welling-
ton, Mr. Domett moved, that the Gaoler's
salary be increased to £109 10, and that the
sum of £496 7 6 be granted for the Depart-
ment. Agreed to.
On the question being put, that the sum of
£206 be granted for Gaol at Nelson, Mr.
Domett moved, that the Gaoler's salary be
increased to £109 10 0, and that the sum of
£224 5, be granted for the department.
Agreed to.
On Motion of the Colonial Treasurer, the
following sums agreed to viz.

On motion of Mr. Domett, the sum of
£500, appropriated for roads at Nelson.
The Colonial Treasurer moved, that further
consideration of Estimates be adjourned until
Thursday, 29th October.
Mr. Domett moved, that Council do adjourn.
Council adjourned at past 4 o'clock, until
2 o'clock on Thursday, 29th October, 1846.
