the foundation of the Colony.
5.-A return of all the foregoing particulars
for the northern district, for the last quarter.
Mr. Kennedy moved the order of the day
for the further consideration in Committee
of the Destitute Persons' Relief Bill.
Bill committed, reported, and ordered to
be read a third time on Monday the 26th
October.
Mr. Donnelly moved the order of the day
for the further consideration in Council of the
Weights and Measures' Bill.
Bill committed, amended, reported, and
ordered to be read a third time on Monday
the 26th October.
The Governor gave notice that he should
introduce a "Bill to amend the Crown Grant's
Ordinance."
The Governor laid on the Table the Esti-
mates for the year 1847.
Ordered that the same be printed.
Council adjourned at 10 minutes after
2 o'clock, until 2 o'clock on Monday, the
26th October, 1846.

The Council met pursuant to adjournment.
The Minutes of the last Meeting were read
and confirmed.

The Governor laid on the Table " A Bill to
repeal the Crown Grants Ordinance, Sess. 5,
No. 3., and to impose fees on the delivery of
all Crown Grants.
On motion of the Attorney General, it was
ordered, that Bill be read a first time on Tues-
day, 27th October.

The Governor laid on the Table a statement
of the expenditure of the Government of New
Zealand, from the commencement of the
Colony to the end of the year 1845. Ordered
that said Return be printed.

Mr. Domett moved the order of the day for
the first reading of the Administration of
Justice Bill.
Bill read a first time, and ordered to be read
a second time on Tuesday the 27th October.

The Governor laid on the Table a Bill for
the appropriation of the Revenue for the
Year 1847.
On motion of the Colonial Treasurer, Bill
read a first time, and the standing rules sus-
pended, to enable the Council to proceed with
the second reading.
Bill read a second time accordingly. Coun-
cil in committee on said Bill. On motion of
the Colonial Treasurer, it was ordered that
the following items be agreed to:

On Motion of the Colonial Treasurer, further
consideration of Estimates postponed until
Tuesday, 27th October.
Mr. Donnelly moved the order of the day
for the third reading of the Weights and
Measures' Bill.
Bill read a third time, and passed.
Mr. Kennedy moved the order of the day
for the third reading of the Destitute Persons'
Relief Bill.
Bill read a third time, and passed.
On motion of the Attorney General ordered
that committee do resume consideration of the
Supreme Court Rules' Bill on Tuesday the
27th October.
Council adjourned at past 4 o'clock, until
2 o'clock on Tuesday, 27th October, 1846.

TUESDAY, 27 TH OCTOBER, 1846.

The Council met pursuant to adjournment.
The Minutes of the last Meeting were read
and confirmed.

The Attorney General moved the order of
the day for the first reading of the Crown
Grants Bill.
Bill read a first time, and ordered to be read
a second time on Wednesday, 28th Oct. 1846.

The Colonial Treasurer moved the order of
the day for the further consideration in Coun-
cil of the Estimates.
On the question being put that the sum of
£1,373 be granted to the Surveyor General's
Department,
Mr. Kennedy moved as an amendment,
that £1048 0 0 be granted; agreed to.
The following items agreed to, viz:

On the question being put that the sum of
£600 15 0 be granted for Harbor Depart-
ment, Auckland. Mr. Domett moved that
the Pilots' Salary be increased £40, and that
the sum of £575 15 0 be granted. Agreed to.

On the question being put that the sum of
£313 15 0 be granted for the Harbor De-
partment, Wellington, Mr. Domett moved,
that the Pilots' Salary be increased £60, and
that the sum of £373 15 0 be granted-
Agreed to.

On the question being put that the sum of
£198 15 0 be granted for Harbor Depart-
ment, Nelson, Mr. Domett moved, that the
