SALE OF LAND.

Colonial Secretary's Office,
Auckland, 13th September, 1842.

A T Eleven o'clock on Thursday the 24th
day of November next, the Colonial
Treasurer will put up to Auction, at the Trea-
sury, the undermentioned porrions of land, on
tue terms authorized by Government.

Further information respecting the Land may
be obtained by the Surveyor General, and
respecting the conditions of Sale, from the
Colonial Treasurer.

Upset price—£1 per Acre.

of Foot, at Auckland, New Zealand.

Name—HENRY FILDES, Private.

Age—23 years.

Size—5 feet 6 inches.

Description of Person—Make or form, rather
stout and smart; head, oval; face, thin; eyes,
grey; neck, short; hair, light brown; shoulders,
square; and active appearance.

Town or Parish where born—Manchester,
county Lancashire.

Former Trade or Occupation—Labourer;
and employed lately by the Military, as one of
the Boat's Crew.

Date of Desertion—7th September, 1842.

Place of Desertion—Auckland, New Zealand.

Dress at the Time of Desertion—Supposed
a large pea jacket and regimental black
trousers.

Bears the marks of corporeal punishment re-
ceived in New Zealand.

Remarks—Supposed to be endeavouring to
get to America.
