of Foot, at Auckland, New Zealand.
Name—JOHN BENSON, Private.
Age—24 years.
Size—5 feet 7 inches.
Description of Person—Make or form, stout;
head, oval; face, round; eyes, dark; eyebrows,
dark; nose, common; neck, short; hair, black;
shoulders, broad and square.
Town—Dublin, Ireland.
Former Trade or Occupation—Labourer; and
employed lately by the Military, as one of the
Boat's Crew.
Date of Desertion—7th September, 1842.
Place of Desertion—Auckland, New Zealand.

Dress at the Time of Desertion—Fatigue
jacket and black trowsers.
Bears the marks of corporeal punishment re-
ceived in New Zealand.
Remarks—Supposed to be endeavouring to
get to America.
