The following Resolutions were passed:—

1st.—That each holder of a license be entitled to depasture two head of great cattle free of all charge or assessment, in consideration of the sum paid for his license.

2nd.—That the Wardens do provide Stamped Tickets, which are to be suspended from the necks of all cattle depastured by holders of licenses; the cost of which will be defrayed in the first instance from the public fund, a register of those tickets shall be kept by the Wardens.

3rd.—That each holder of a license shall be at liberty to take out tickets for any number of cattle, not exceeding that apportioned to him, which number will be subject to such rate of assessment as the Wardens may find it necessary to impose under the Ordinance, and for duly carrying out its provisions.

4th.—That the Wardens will be ready to receive applications from holders of licenses for the depasturing of a larger number of cattle than that apportioned, whenever the state of the run shall be found to admit of it; all cattle so admitted being liable to the general assessment.

5th.—That a Pound be immediately erected near the spring of water in the scoria adjoining the Village of Panmure, and that Mr. James Cleary be recommended for the appointment of Poundkeeper.

That Mr. James Hamlin be requested to undertake the office of Ranger, receiving such remuneration as may be decided on by the Wardens.

MEETING OF THE WARDENS OF THE AUCKLAND HUNDRED.

March 4th, 1850.

Having read the Crown Lands' Ordinance, Session 10, and the other documents laid before the Wardens by the Commissioner,

Resolved—

That five head of Sheep be considered equivalent to one head of Great Cattle, that Pigs and Goats be wholly excluded.

The return of Crown Land for the Hundred being 2963 acres is considered calculated to carry 400 head Great Cattle, or 2000 sheep.
