A block of land containing Three acres and twelve perches, more or less, situate at Adam Smith's line of reef adjoining the Wealth of Nations. Applied for by George William Moss, Manager of the Enterprise Quartzmining Company, registered.

A block of land containing Four acres and two roods, more or less, situate North of adjoining Mulligan and party's lease, Soldier's Gully. Applied for by William Luke and others.

A block of land containing Eleven acres two roods and twenty-eight perches, more or less, situate North of German Jack's lease, and South of Melbourne lease, Murray Creek. Applied for by Joseph G. Walsh.

James Hickey, Four acres one rood and twenty-six perches, more or less, situated near Constant Bay.
INANGAHUA DISTRICT.
R. Gissinge, Eleven acres one rood and fifteen perches, more or less, situated on the South side of the Inangahua River, opposite Reefton.
Charles Fook, Two acres and thirty-one perches, more or less, situated on the South side of the Inangahua River, opposite Reefton.

NOTICE is hereby given that the following Agricultural Leases have been Cancelled, viz.:—
GREY DISTRICT.
John Dinan, Fifty-two acres three roods and eight perches, more or less, being section numbered 31, square 123.
John Reid, One hundred and fifty acres, more or less, being sections numbered 83, 84, and 85, square 122.

PROTECTION is hereby granted, under the provisions of the "Goldfields Act, 1866," to John Williams, of Fern Flat, for the term of two years from the date hereof for a ferry-boat across the Left-hand Branch of the Inangahua River, about three and a half miles from Reefton, subject to the following conditions, viz.:—

That a substantial boat shall be placed on the river at the site named within two months from this date, and maintained in good working order during the term of protection.

That a competent ferryman shall always be in attendance, and the ferry shall be at all times conducted to the satisfaction of the Warden of the district.

The Warden of the district may, on being satisfied that the ferry is not conducted in an efficient manner, and, in accordance with these conditions, suspend the operation of this protection until the matter of complaint be removed, and, if the matter of complaint be not removed within a reasonable time, the Superintendent shall have the power to cancel this protection.

The tolls to be charged for the use of the ferry-boat shall not exceed the following, viz.:—
Foot passengers, each ... 1s. 0d.
Government officials, including police, road overseers, postmen, and laborers, when on duty ... free

This protection shall extend along the river for a distance of two miles, that is to say, one mile each side of the site of the ferry.

All regulations which may at any time be brought into force under section 13 of the "Goldfields Act, 1866," shall be deemed applicable to this protection, as if it had been granted under the same.

This protection shall not be transferred without the sanction of the Superintendent.
