NELSON GOVERNMENT GAZETTE.

March 11, 1872.
NOTICE is hereby given that the following Gold-mining Lease is declared Forfeited; the Lessee having neglected to execute the same within a reasonable time, as provided by the Goldmining Lease Regulations, viz.:
Lease dated 1st January, 1872, to Frederick W. Thiele, of nine acres three roods and thirty perches, District of Brighton. (No. 111, C.)

BENJAMIN GOUGH is hereby authorised, under the provisions of section XIII of "The Goldfields Act, 1866," to place upon the river Ahaura opposite the Ahaura island, near the township of Ahaura, a self-acting punt, travelling upon a wire rope across the river; and he is protected in the sole right of ferrying on the said river within one mile of the said island, for a period of six months from the 1st day of February, 1872, and authorised to charge tolls as per schedule, on the following conditions :—
- That a good safe boat, and a competent ferryman, shall be at all times in attendance at the Ahaura Ferry, and the punt be kept in good working order.
- That all Government officers on duty including Postmen and Road Overseers be ferried free of charge.
- That this protection shall not be transferred without the sanction of the Superintendent.

I, THE Undersigned, FRANK MATHIAS, hereby make application to Register the GOLDEN CROWN QUARTZ-MINING COMPANY, REGISTERED, under the provisions of the Mining Companies Limited Liability Act, 1865, and the Mining Companies Limited Liability Acts Amendment Acts, 1869, 1870, and 1871; and I do solemnly and sincerely declare that the following statement is to the best of my belief and knowledge true in every particular, namely:—
- The name and style of the Company is the Golden Crown Quartz-Mining Company, registered.
- The place of intended operations is on Shiel's Line (being Lease No. 2 South, consisting of 12 acres of ground), near Murray Creek, in the Province of Nelson.
- The nominal capital of the Company is thirty thousand pounds, in six thousand shares of five pounds each.
- The amount already paid-up in cash is nil, in paid-up shares given to the shareholders as value of claim is six thousand pounds.
- The name of the manager is Frank Mathias.
- The office of the Company is at Reefton, in the Province of Nelson.
