ALTERATION OF ROADS.
THE undersigned hereby give notice that they
intend to apply to two or more Justices of the
Peace, at the sitting to be held on FRIDAY, 28th
day of January, 1870, at the Court House, Nelson,
for STOPPING UP, DIVERTING, and OPENING the
undermentioned roads, and further that they will
cause survey plans of the several roads proposed to
be stopped up, substituted, and opened, together with
books of reference and estimates, to be deposited with
the Clerk to the Magistrates at Nelson, and with the
Constables of the several districts in which the said
roads are situated, or with the Constables nearest to
these districts.
No. 1. To stop up part of a road in the Upper
Moutere district, colored blue on the plan attached to
this application, and described as follows, viz.:—
That portion of a road lying between Sections
No. 125 and 87, commencing at a point
about 11 chains from the north-west corner
of the latter Section, and proceeding in a
south-easterly direction for about 6 chains.
And to substitute in the place thereof, a certain
other road, 60 links wide, colored pink on the plan
attached to this application, and described as follows,
viz.:—
That portion of a road lying partly within
Section No. 87, and partly within No. 125,
commencing at a point about 10 chains
from the north-west corner of Section No.
87, proceeding thence about 3½ chains in
a south-easterly direction, and about 7
chains in a general southerly direction, to
meet the old road.
