β¨ Ferry Protection and Bankruptcy Notices

Superintendent\'s Office,
Nelson, 26th September, 1868.
PROTECTION is hereby granted for
Six months, from 1st October, next,
under the provisions of "The Goldfields
Act, 1869," to THOMAS BRADLEY, and
SAMUEL RILEY, for the right of Ferrying
across Fox\'s River for a distance of half-a-
mile from the mouth of the river and they
are authorised to charge from October 1st,
1868, to March 31st, 1869, fares as per
Schedule, on the following conditions:β
- That a good safe boat and competent
Ferryman shall be at all times in
attendance. - That Government Officers on duty be
ferried free of charge. - That this protection shall not be trans-
ferred without the authority of the
Warden of the District. - That this protection shall not affect the
right of the Government to erect or
grant protection for any bridge
within the protected limits.

1867," and in the matter of THOMAS
SAMUEL WARD.
NOTICE is hereby given, that the above-
named THOMAS SAMUEL WARD was
this day adjudicated Bankrupt: And
further, that the order of adjudication
appoints a first meeting of the Creditors of
the said Bankrupt, and prescribes Wednesday,
the 30th day of September instant, at Two
o\'clock in the afternoon, at the office of
FRANCIS HARRIS, Esquire, Westport,
as the day, time, and place for holding
the same meeting.

Nelson, and Colony of New Zealand,
Master Mariner, Bankrupt.
NOTICE is hereby given, that the above
Court did this day appoint a Public
Sitting to take place on Saturday, the 17th
day of October now next ensuing, at Eleven
o\'clock in the forenoon, at the Court-House
at Westport above-mentioned, for the above-
named Bankrupt to pass his last examination,
and to make application for his discharge:
And notice is hereby further given, that the
said Bankrupt intends to apply to the said
Court, at the time and place aforesaid, for
an order of discharge, discharging him from
all debts, claims, and demands, whatsoever
provable under his bankruptcy.

with JOSEPH LAMBERT CLARKE, under
the style or firm of "SPEER AND CLARKE,"
Bankrupt.
NOTICE is hereby given, that the above
Court did this day appoint a Public
Sitting to take place on Saturday the 17th
day of October now next ensuing, at Eleven
o\'clock in the forenoon, at the Court-House
at Westport above-mentioned, for the above-
named Bankrupt to pass his last examination,
and to make application for his discharge:
And notice is hereby further given, that the
said Bankrupt intends to apply to the said
Court, at the time and place aforesaid, for
an order of discharge, discharging him from
