- That portion of road running in a south-westerly direction for a distance of about 29 chains 70 links; and a further portion in the same direction of about 11 chains 38 links, and passing between Sections numbered 9 and 4 of Square 18.
And to substitute in the place thereof certain other portions of a road, the commencing portion of which will be 66 feet wide, and the remainder 50 feet wide, and which is shown by pink color on the plan attached to this application, and is more particularly described as follows, and is also marked on the ground.
1st. Commencing at the cross-road, being the western boundary of Section No. 1 of Square 18, and running in an easterly direction for a distance of about 11 chains 53 links, through Section No. 1 of Square 18.
2nd. Commencing at the ford, between Sections No. 1 and 4 of Square 18, and running in a south-easterly direction for a distance of about 19 chains and 50 feet wide, till it joins the old line of road, being through Section No. 4 of Square 18.

Commencing at and running along the eastern side of a portion of the old line of road, in a southerly direction, for a distance of about 9 chains 10 links, and 50 feet wide, passing through Section No. 35 of Square 18, and a portion of Section No. 9 of Square 18.

Commencing at the western side of a portion of the old line of road, and running in a southerly direction for a distance of about 29 chains 55 links, and 50 feet wide, to the western side of another portion of the old line of road, and passing through Section No. 4 of Square 18.

Commencing at the eastern side of the last-mentioned old piece of road, and running in a southerly direction for a distance of about 55 chains, and 50 feet wide, to the commencement of the Government Reserve, passing through Section No. 9 of Square 18; the last 4 chains being 1 chain wide.

PROPOSED ALTERATION OF ROADS IN THE TAKAKA DISTRICT.
To make a new line of road from the East Takaka road to the Motupipi jetty, a distance of about 162 chains, and which is colored yellow on the plan attached to this application, and is more particularly described as follows:—

Commencing from the East Takaka road, at the south-east corner of section No. 101, keeping along the south-west boundary of that section for a distance of about 49 chains, and passing through sections part of No. 163 and No. 164, to the ford of the Motupipi River; width of road to be 40 feet, with an extra width as shown at the fordway.

From the west side of the ford in a north-westerly direction for a distance of about 21 chains, through Native Reserve, to a point on the Motupipi trunk road, about 5 chains from the bank of the Motupipi River.

Thence in a north-west and westerly direction for a distance of about 11 and 2½ chains respectively, through Native Reserve, to and across that tidal water-flow known as Caldwell's Creek.

Thence in a westerly direction for a distance of about 7 chains, through Native Reserve, to the south-east corner of Lovell's fence.

Thence in a northerly direction, in a line with and along the eastern side of the said fence, for a distance of about 39½ chains; the first 12 chains, or thereabouts, is through Native Reserve, and the remaining 27½ chains, or thereabouts, after crossing a public road is through Section No. 4, of Square 11.

Thence in a north-easterly direction for a distance of about 21½ chains to the beach, nearly opposite the Motupipi Jetty, and through Section No. 4, of Square No. 11; the northern portion of this line for about 7 chains being in a line with and along the Western side of Lovell's fence.
Also to make a new line of Road. Being a prolongation of that portion of the Waitapu Road which crosses the tidal creek on the South West side of Marjuka Point, over which there is a foot bridge, and running through a portion of Section No. 16 of Square 11 for a distance of about 4 chains and a width of 50 feet, and which is shown more particularly by being colored pink on the plan attached to this application.
