other land within the Province of Nelson not
included within the boundaries of other dis-
tricts described herein.

TAKAKA DISTRICT.

From Rangiata Head to summits of Slate
River Peak, Lead Hill, Mount Olympus, and
Snowdon; from summit of Snowdon to summit
of Mount Arthur; thence along watershed
line to summit of Mount Richards and to Abel
Head; thence along coast to Rangiata Head.

MOTUEKA DISTRICT.

From Abel Head, along the eastern boundary
of the lastnamed districts, to the summit of
Mounts Richards and Arthur; thence by a
straight line in the direction of the junction of
the Buller and Gowan Rivers, till it meets the
Wangapeka River, or is due west from its
junction with the Motueka River; thence to
the junction of the Wangapeka River with the
Motueka River; thence by a straight line to
the south-west corner of Section 189, Moutere;
thence following the eastern boundary of the
Moutere Road district, to the sea; thence
along the sea coast to Abel Head.

NELSON DISTRICT.

From the sea at the north-east angle of the
Waimea Road district, following the southern
boundary of the lastnamed district till it meets
the straight line from summit of Mount Ar-
thur to the junction of the Buller and Gowan;
thence along that line to the mouth of the
Gowan; thence up the Gowan to Lake
Howick, along the western shore of Lake
Howick to its southern extremity; thence to
the Wairau Gorge; thence northerly to Lake
Arthur, along its eastern margin, to the stream
running into it from the north-east; thence up
the said stream to the head of the Motupiko
River; thence along Watershed Summits to
Mount Rintoul; thence to Mount Richmond;
thence to eastern boundary of township of
Havelock, including the township; thence
along the arm of the Pelorus to Point Cullen;
thence along the watershed summit, by Mount
Cook, to Alligator Point; thence to Point
Dickens; thence along the sea coast to its
commencement, including the Waimea Islands.

WAIRAU DISTRICT.

Following the eastern boundary of last-
named district, from Alligator Point to the
Wairau Gorge; thence the summit of the
watershed, between the Gorge and Barefells
Pass; thence to the summit of Mount Staf-
ford; thence along watershed summit to
Mount Wells; thence along watershed sum-
mit to the White Bluff; thence to Alligator
Point; so as to include Port Gore, Queen
Charlotte Sound, Port Underwood, and Link-
water Dale.

AWATERE DISTRICT.

The eastern and southern boundary of last-
named district, from the White Bluff to the
watershed summit, between Barefells Pass
and the Wairau Gorge; thence to Barefells
Pass; thence to the upper gorge of the
Clarence; thence in a south-easterly direction
to the summit of the Gorge; thence along the
range, by the summits of Mounts Freya and
Thor; thence to the junction of the first
branch of the Clarence; thence down the
Clarence to its mouth; thence following the
sea coast to the White Bluff.

AMURI DISTRICT.

The southern boundary of lastnamed dis-
trict, from the mouth of the Clarence; the
watershed summit, between Barefells Pass
and the Wairau Gorge; thence to the Wairau
Gorge; thence to southern extremity of Lake
Howick; thence to the watershed between
the East and West Coast, at the head of the
River Hurunui; thence down said river to its
mouth; thence along sea coast to the mouth
of the Clarence.


And I hereby declare that this proclamation
shall come into operation and take effect on
the first day of October next.

Given under my hand, and issued under
the Public Seal of the colony, at
Government House, at Auckland,
this Sixth day of July, in the year
of our Lord one thousand eight hun-
dred and fifty-nine.

PROCLAMATION.

By His Excellency Colonel THOMAS GORE
BROWNE, Companion of the Most Hohour-
able Order of the Bath, Governor and
Commander-in-Chief in and over her
Majesty's colony of New Zealand, and
Vice-Admiral of the same, &c., &c.

WHEREAS, by an Act of the General
Assembly, entitled "The Registration
Act, 1858," it is enacted that it shall be lawful
for the Governor, from time to time, by pro-
clamation in the New Zealand Gazette, to
divide the colony, for the purposes of the said
Act, into such and so many districts as he
shall think fit; and every such district shall
be called by a distinct name, and shall be a
Registrar's district: Provided always, that the
Governor may, at any time, revoke the whole
or any part of any such proclamation,
and issue a new proclamation, dividing the
colony, or any portion of it, anew into dis-
