tricts, or increasing the number, or altering
the boundaries of districts, as from time to
time he may think requisite; and it is provided
that the districts existing at the time of the
passing of the said Act should, until duly
altered, be deemed to be districts proclaimed
under the said Act:
Now, therefore, I, the Governor of the said
colony of New Zealand, in pursuance of the
power and authority in me vested by the said
in part recited Act, do hereby revoke every
proclamation at any time heretofore issued,
appointing and declaring Registrars' districts
for the purposes of the Registration of Births,
Deaths, and Marriages; and I do, by this pro-
clamation, divide the said colony, for the pur-
poses of the said Act, into districts, the names
and boundaries whereof shall be as follows:—

preceding proclamation.]
And I hereby declare that this proclamation
shall come into operation and take effect on the
first day of October next.
Given under my hand, and issued under
the Public Seal of the colony, at
Government House, at Auckland,
this Sixth day of July, in the year
of our Lord one thousand eight hun-
dred and fifty-nine.

ber next, REGISTRARS under "The Marriage
Act, 1854," and "The Marriage Act Amend-
ment Act, 1858," for the districts set opposite
their respective names, as those districts are
severally described in a proclamation bearing
date the 6th July, 1859:—
Aorere—Henry Godfrey Gouland;
Takaka—James Tilby;
Motueka—Alexander Le Grand Campbell;
Nelson—John Poynter;
Wairau—Stephen Lunn Muller;
Awatere—Philip M'Rae;
Amuri—Edward Jas. Lee.
Until the First of October next, the arrange-
ments at present existing with respect to the
divisions of districts, and the appointments of
Registrars, are to continue in force.
