ton Road Districts—Eleven thousand
four hundred acres, situate in the
Christchurch district, commencing at
a point on the Harewood Road by
Riccarton, the same being the north-
western corner of section 7597; fol-
lowing westerly along the southern
side of that road to a point in line
with the western side of the road
forming the western boundary of
section 11068; thence northerly fol-
lowing the said road to the river
Waimakariri; thence following up
the river to the high bank or terrace
forming the north-eastern boundary
of section 7344; thence south-easterly
following the said terrace along the
northern boundary of sections 7364,
3708, 2806, 3765, and 6458, to the
Coal Road on the western side of
Reserve 342 (in red); following up
that road to where it is intersected
by the terrace forming the northern
boundary of section 5194, following
the said terrace in an easterly direc-
tion by the northern boundary of
sections 5194, 2645, and 2993, to the
road forming the northern boundary
of section 7718; thence south-
easterly following that road to section
6152; thence north-easterly follow-
ing the north-western boundary of
that section to the south-eastern
boundary of section 7741, following
that boundary, the southern and
north-western boundaries of the same
section, and a line in continuation of
the last-mentioned boundary to sec-
tion 7850; thence north-westerly
along the south-western boundary of
the latter section to its westernmost
corner; and from thence returning
along the western boundaries of secs-
tions 7850, 4897, and the before-
mentioned section 7597, to the com-
mencing point (save and except the
land reserved and purchased to date),
and also to pre-emptive rights, viz.:

No. 1116 (in red).—South Rakaia Road
District—Two thousand two hundred
acres, situate in the Ashburton dis-
trict, including Pudding Hill, bounded
on the northward by a branch of the
river Ashburton; on the southward
by another branch of the same river;
and on the westward by a straight
line bearing N. 44 deg. 80 min. E.
(meg.), drawn from a point on the
southern boundary, situated about
three and a quarter miles measured
in a straight line from the confluence
of the above-mentioned branches of
the aforesaid river.—For educational
purposes.
No. 1237 (in red).—Ashburton, Mount
Peel, and Geraldine Road Districts—
One thousand two hundred and two
acres, situate in the Ashburton and
Timaru districts, commencing at a
point on the southern side of the
road leading by Trig. pole 79, the
said point being thirty-two chains
north-east of Trig. pole 78; thence
northerly, following the said road
a distance of eighty-two chains;
thence westerly at an angle of 102
deg. 5 min., following a straight line
to the road by Geraldine and Orari;
thence southerly following the latter
road a distance of about eighty-two
chains eighty links; and from thence
returning in a line parallel to and
one mile distant from the northern
boundary to the commencing point.—
For purposes of the Rangitata
Bridge.
No. 1288 (in red).—Springs Road Dis-
triet—Fifty-three acres, situate in the
Lincoln district, bounded on the
northward by the Ellesmere Junction
Road and Reserve No. 310 (in red);
on the eastward by the Weedon and
Ellesmere Road; on the westward
by the aforesaid reserve and section
No. 4052; and on the southward by
section 6688; subject to Reserve No.
302 (in red).—For purposes of a
tramway.
No. 1288 (in red).—South Malvern Road
District—Two hundred and thirty-
four acres, in the Malvern district,
bounded on the eastward by the road
forming the western boundary of
section 12872; on the northward by
the road forming the northern
boundary of that section and the
southern boundary of section 12778;
and on the southward by the river
Wakaepa.—For road, tramway, and
other purposes of the Provincial
Government.
No. 1289 (in red).—Rakaia Road Dis-
triet—Two hundred and seventy
acres, situate in the Malvern district,
bounded on the northward by the
river Wakaepa; on the eastward by
the said river; on the westward by
section 3716; and on the southward
by a line parallel to and fifteen
chains distant on the average from
the northern boundary.—For road,
tramway, and other purposes of the
Provincial Government.
