a district to an Educational District, and in every such case the district or districts constituted or affected thereby shall be deemed to be and shall be proclaimed as provided in the said Ordinance as newly constituted Educational District or Districts:

Now, therefore, I, WILLIAM ROLLESTON, Superintendent of the said Province, in pursuance of the powers vested in me by the 27th section of the said before-recited Ordinance, and by and with the advice of the Executive Council do hereby alter the limits of the Lower Heathcote Educational District, and I do hereby proclaim the district as specified in the Schedule hereunto annexed to be a newly-constituted Educational District within the meaning of "The Education Ordinance, 1873."

SCHEDULE.

LOWER HEATHCOTE EDUCATIONAL DISTRICT.

Bounded on the north by New Brighton Educational District; on the west by the East Christchurch Educational District; and on the south by the railway to the Heathcote River and by the said river; on the east by the Avon and Heathcote Estuary.

Given under my hand at Christchurch, this 14th day of October, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-four.

PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS in pursuance of the powers vested in me by "The Canterbury Waste Lands Act, 1873," I, William Rolleston, Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury, did by Proclamation dated the 14th day of October, 1873, fix the time up to which applications for the purchase of rural land to be heard at the next ensuing sitting of the Waste Lands Board could be made: And whereas it is expedient to revoke the said Proclamation and to make other provision in lieu thereof:

Now, therefore, I do hereby revoke the said Proclamation, and I hereby with the advice of my Executive Council, and on the recommendation of the Waste Lands Board, fix four o'clock, p.m., on Wednesday, in every week as the latest time up to which applications for the purchase of Rural Land to be heard by the Board at its sitting on the following Monday can be made, and in like manner fix one o'clock p.m. on Saturday in every week as the latest time up to which applications for the purchase of Rural Land to be heard by the Board at its sitting on the following Thursday can be made.

Given under my hand, at Christchurch, this 14th day of October, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-four.
