PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the owners and occupiers of land, and householders in the Educational District of Waitohi Flat have failed, within the time limited for that purpose by the Board of Education, to contribute and pay to the Provincial Treasurer the amount fixed by the Board as the contribution of the said District for school purposes.

Now, therefore, I, Richard James Strachan Harman, Deputy-Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury, in pursuance of the powers vested in me, and by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, do hereby declare an uniform rate of Eightpence in the Β£, to be leviable within the said District, under the provisions of the 42nd Section of "The Education Ordinance, 1873," and I do hereby appoint

FRANCIS WORCESTER STUBBS

as the person to whom the said rate shall be paid.

Given under my hand at Christchurch, this 19th day of August, One thousand eight hundred and seventy-four.

PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand, passed in the twenty-second year of the reign of Her Majesty Queen Victoria, intituled "The Provincial Reserved Bills Act, 1858," it is enacted that whenever any Bill shall have been passed by the Provincial Council of any Province, and shall have been reserved by the Superintendent for the signification of the Governor's pleasure thereon, such Bill shall not have any force or authority within the said Province until the Superintendent shall signify either by speech or message to the Provincial Council or by Proclamation in the Government Gazette of the said Province, that such Bill has been laid before the Governor, and that the Governor has assented to the same.

And Whereas certain Bills intituled

"The Racecourse Reserve Ordinance, Amendment, 1874,"

"The Lyttelton Harbour Reserve Ordinance, 1874,"

were passed by the Superintendent and Provincial Council of the Province of Canterbury, and the same were reserved by the Superintendent of the said Province for the assent of His Excellency the Governor :

Now, therefore, I, Richard James Strachan Harman, Deputy Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury, in pursuance of all powers vested in me, do hereby proclaim and declare that the aforesaid Bills have been laid before His Excellency the Governor, and that His Excellency has assented to the same.

Given under my hand, at Christchurch, this 7th day of August, One thousand eight hundred and seventy-four.
