BOARD OF EDUCATION.
REVISED REGULATIONS FOR THE APPOINTMENT, TRAINING, AND REMUNERATION OF PUPIL-TEACHERS.
REVISED AUGUST 3RD, 1874.
APPOINTMENT.
Youth of either sex, and between 13 and 17 years of age, will be eligible for appointment.
Their term of service will expire at 17 years of age. They will then be eligible as assistant teachers.
They will be ranked as pupil-teachers of the first, second, third or fourth year.
They will be ranked as of the first year at commencement, unless over 14 years of age, and capable of passing an examination in the subjects of a higher year, according to the "Programme for the instruction of Pupil-teachers."
Those of an advanced age will be allowed to gain a year or years, according to their age and attainments, at each annual examination.
TRAINING.
Teachers holding first-class and second-class certificates will be eligible for receiving and training pupil-teachers throughout their term of service; those holding certificates of the third class, Division I, for receiving and training pupil teachers for the first and second years.
