No. 947, (in red).—Eleven thousand four
hundred acres, situate in the Christ-
church district, commencing at a
point on the Harewood Road by
Riccarton, the same being the north-
western corner of section 7597, fol-
lowing westerly along the southern
side of that road to a point in line
with the western side of the road for-
ming the western boundary of section
11068; thence northerly following
the said road to the river Waimakariri;
thence following up the river to the
high bank or terrace forming the
north-eastern boundary of section
7844; thence south-easterly following
the said terrace along the northern
boundary of sections 3764, 3708, 2806,
3765, and 6453, to the Coal Road on
the western side of reserve 342 (in
red); following up that road to where
it is intersected by the terrace form-
ing the northern boundary of section
5194, following the said terrace in an
easterly direction by the northern
boundary of sections 5194, 2645, and
2993, to the road forming the north-
ern boundary of section 7718; thence
south-easterly following that road to
section 6152; thence north-easterly
following the north-western boundary
of that section to the south-eastern
boundary of section 7741, following
that boundary, the southern and
north-western boundaries of the same
section, and a line in continuation of
the last mentioned boundary to see-
tion 7850; thence north-westerly
along the south-western boundary of
the latter section to its westernmost
corner; and from thence returning
along the western boundaries of sec-
tions 7850, 4897, and the before-
mentioned section 7597, to the com-
mencing point (save and except the
land reserved and purchased to date),
and also to pre-emptive rights viz.:—

I.P.Rs a, e, and d on Run No. 37;
I.P.Rs d, e, f, h, i, j, k, l, m, on Run
No. 37A, and H.P.R. on same Run.
—For purposes of protective works
in connection with the overflow of the
river Waimakariri.

No. 959, (in red).—All that portion of the
Province of Canterbury comprised
within the highest flood-line of Lake
Ellesmere (subject, nevertheless, to
reserves, freehold land, and pre-
emptive rights).—For purposes in
connection with the drainage of Lake
Ellesmere.

No. 960, (in red).—All that portion of the
Province of Canterbury comprised
within the highest flood-line of Lake
Forsyth (subject, nevertheless, to
reserves, freehold, and pre-emptive
rights).—For purposes in connection
with the drainage of Lake Forsyth.

No. 1116, (in red).—Two thousand
two hundred acres, situate in the
Ashburton district, including Pud-
ding Hill, bounded on the north-
ward by a branch of the river Ash-
burton; on the southward by another
branch of the same river; and on the
westward by a straight line bearing
N. 44 deg. 30 secs. E. (mag.), drawn
from a point on the southern bound-
ary, situated about three-and-a-quarter
miles measured in a straight line
from the confluence of the above-
mentioned branches of the aforesaid
river.—For educational purposes.

No. 1237, (in red).—One thousand two
hundred and two acres, situate in the
Ashburton and Timaru districts, com-
mencing at a point on the south-
ern side of the road leading by trig.
pole 79, the said point being thirty-
two chains north-east of trig. pole
78; thence northerly, following the
said road a distance of eighty-two
chains; thence westerly at an angle
of 102 deg. 5 min., following a
straight line to the road by Geral-
dine and Orari; thence southerly
following the latter road a distance of
about eighty-two chains eighty links;
and from thence returning in a line
parallel to and one mile distant from
the northern boundary to the com-
mencing point.—For purposes of the
Rangitata Bridge.

No. 1238, (in red).—Fifty-three acres,
situate in the Lincoln district,
bounded on the northward by the
Ellesmere Junction Road and Re-
serve No. 310 in red; on the east-
ward by the Weeden and Ellesmere
Road; on the westward by the afore-
said reserve and section No. 4052;
and on the southward by section
6638; subject to Reserve No. 302, in
red.—For purposes of a tramway.

No. 1288, (in red).—Two hundred
and thirty-four acres, in the Mal-
vern district, bounded on the east-
ward by the road forming the
western boundary of section 12872;
on the northward by the road form-
ing the northern boundary of that
section and the southern boundary
of section 12778; and on the south-
ward by the river Wakaepa.—For
road, tramway, and other purposes of
the Provincial Government.

No. 1289, (in red).—Two hundred and
seventy acres, situate in the Mal-
vern district, bounded on the north-
ward by the river Wakaepa; on
the eastward by the said river; on
the westward by section 2716; and
on the southward by a line parallel
to and fifteen chains distant on
the average from the northern boun-
dary.—For road, tramway, and other
purposes of the Provincial Govern-
ment.

No. 1342, (in red).—All that tract of land
three chains wide, containing by ad-
measurement eighty acres (more or
less), the centre line of which com-
mences at a point on the north-east
boundary of section 4973, situate
thirty-five and-a-half chains from the
