No. 1563, in red.—Eighty five acres (more or less), situate in the Mandeville district, commencing at a point on the road forming the northern boundary of R.S. 1623, the said point being the north-east corner of that section; thence southerly following the eastern boundaries of R.S. 1623 and 1197 to the north-west corner of R.S. 4758; thence easterly following the northern boundary thereof 24 chains 90 links; thence southerly at a right angle following the eastern boundary lines of R.S. 4758 and 544 to a point in line with the northern boundary of reserve 142 (in red); thence easterly following a straight line to the north-west corner of the said reserve; thence easterly along the northern boundary thereof to the road forming its south-east boundary; thence north-easterly following that road to R.S. 12315; thence north-westerly following the south-west boundary of R.S. 12315 and 8025 to the road first mentioned; and from thence returning along the same to the commencing point, subject to the road forming the eastern boundary of R.S. 4758, for which road allowance is made in the acreage. The above described land is part of Preemptive Right No. 47.—For recreation ground.

No. 1564, in red.—Twenty acres (more or less), situate in the Upper Christchurch district, bounded on the northward by the road forming the southern boundary of R.S. 6379; on the eastward by R.S. 6326; on the southward by Bealey’s road; and on the westward by R.S. 14102.—For recreation ground.

No. 1565, in red.—Eight acres (more or less), situate in the Upper Christchurch district, bounded on the northward by the road forming the southern boundary of R.S. 14096; on the eastward by R.S. 12627; on the southward by R.S. 12348; and on the westward by Reserve No. 1518 (in red).—For recreation ground.

No. 1566, in red.—Fourteen acres (more or less), situate in the Upper Christchurch district, having fourteen chains frontage to the road forming the northern boundary of R.S. 14701, and extending southerly ten chains in a rectangular block; the north-east corner of this reserve is situate nine chains west of the north-west corner of R.S. 14701.—For recreation ground.

No. 1567, in red.—Two hundred acres (more or less), situate in the Oxford district, bounded on the north-westward by R.S. 11500; on the north-east by the road forming the north-east boundary of R.S. 11500; on the southward by the Eyre road north; on the westward by a line drawn at right angles to southern boundary to meet the southernmost corner of R.S. 11500; and on the eastward by a line parallel to western boundary, to include the required quantity, save and except Reserve No. 1304 (in red).—For recreation ground.

No. 1568, in red.—Five acres (more or less), situate in the Malvern district, bounded on the north-eastward by R.S. 13964; on the south-eastward by the road forming the south-east boundary of R.S. 11527; on the north-westward by a line parallel to and ten chains distant on the average from the south-east boundary; and on the south-westward by a line parallel to north-east boundary, to include the required quantity.—For a gravel pit.

PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by “The Canterbury Rivers Act, 1870,” it is enacted that the Provincial Council may by resolution from time to time decide that any part or parts of the Province shall be constituted a district for the purposes of the said Act, and that such resolution shall describe the limits of such district and designate the name by which such district shall be known, and mention the number of Conservators, being not less than three nor more than five, of which the Board of the district shall be constituted:

And it is further enacted that the Superintendent shall, by Proclamation in the Provincial Gazette, make regulations for conducting the elections of Members of a Board:

And whereas by a resolution passed by the Provincial Council on the seventh day of May, 1873, it was decided that the following district should be so constituted, that is to say:—

All that portion of the Province commencing at the south-west corner of section 8118; thence northerly to the north-west corner of section 11209; thence easterly to the east corner of section 8220; thence southerly along the east boundary of section 9701 to the Southbrook road; thence easterly along the Southbrook road to section 1029; thence southerly along the western boundary of section 1029 to
