PROCLAMATION.

I WILLIAM ROLLESTON, Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in me by the 27th section of "The Education Ordinance, 1871," on the recommendation of the Board of Education, and by and with the advice and consent of my Executive Council, do hereby proclaim and declare that the district specified in the Schedule hereto shall be an Educational District under the said Ordinance.

Given under my hand at Christchurch, this Tenth day of March, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-three.

SCHEDULE.

Kaiparoro District.
Commencing at trig. pole 25; thence westerly in a straight line to trig. pole 21c; thence by the east bank of the River Waimakariri to a point due east of Grigg’s drain; thence up the said drain to the Kaikainui Creek; thence following the said creek in a north-easterly direction to the south-east corner of section 428; thence by the southern boundaries of the said section and sections 422 and 5801 to the north branch of the river Waimakariri; thence by the eastern boundary of the Eyreton Educational District to the river Cam; thence by the said river to a point due west of the northern boundary of section 1822; thence in a straight line to the northern boundary of said section; thence southerly and easterly by the western and southern boundaries of the Woodend Educational District to the sea; thence southerly following along the sea coast to the mouth of the river Waimakariri; and from thence in a straight line to the starting point.

PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the owners and occupiers of land and householders in the Educational District of Waimate have failed within the time limited for that purpose by the Board of Education to contribute and pay to the Provincial Treasurer the amount fixed by the Board as the contributions of the said district for school purposes:

Now, therefore, I William Rolleston, Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury, in pursuance of the powers vested in me, and by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, do hereby declare an uniform rate of fivepence half-penny in the pound to be leviable within the said district, under the provisions of the seventh section of "The Education Ordinance, 1871, Amendment Ordinance, 1872, No. 2," and I do hereby appoint

GEORGE H. GRAHAM

as the person to whom the said rate shall be paid.

PROCLAMATION.

I WILLIAM ROLLESTON, Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in me by "The Canterbury Roads Ordinance, 1872," and by and with the advice and consent of my Executive Council, do hereby divide the Ellesmere Road District into the following sub-divisions, by the names hereby severally assigned to them, and the boundaries of which are set forth in the Schedule hereunto annexed, that is to say:

No. 1, or Irwell Ward.
No. 2, or Lake Ward.
No. 3, or Coast Ward.
No. 4, or Rakaia Ward.
No. 5, or Killinchy Ward.

And I hereby severally assign the Members of the Road Board now in office in the said district to the sub-divisions hereby declared in manner following:

Mr. G. B. Woodman, to No. 1, or Irwell Ward.
Rev. W. J. G. Bluett, to No. 2, or Lake Ward.
Mr. C. J. Birdling, to No. 3, or Coast Ward.
Mr. C. A. Fitzroy, to No. 4, or Rakaia Ward.
Mr. John Rennie, to No. 5, or Killinchy Ward.

Given under my hand, at Christchurch, this Twelfth day of March, 1873.

SCHEDULE.

No. 1, or Irwell Ward.
Commencing on Hanmer’s Road at south-east corner of section 10593 at high-water mark of Lake Ellesmere, and following on the south-west side of that road to its junction with the Boundary Creek Road; thence along the latter named road on the north-eastern side in a northerly direction to its junction with the Selwyn and Rakaia Road; thence along the west side of Selwyn and Rakaia Road to
