IT IS Honor the Superintendent directs
it to be notified that he has been
pleased to appoint
CHARLES HOOD WILLIAMS
to be Keeper of the Public Records, vice
A. F. N. Blakiston, absent on leave.

PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS at a public meeting of persons
duly qualified to vote in the
Kowai Bush District, held on Thursday, the
27th February, 1873, it was declared by the
votes of the majority of the persons present
that they were willing that the district des-
cribed in the Schedule hereto should be
formed into an Educational District:
Now, therefore, I WILLIAM ROLLESTON,
Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury,
in pursuance of the powers vested in
me, and by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council, do hereby pro-
claim the said district to be an Educational
District within the meaning of “The Educa-
tion Ordinance, 1871.”
Given under my hand at Christchurch,
this Eleventh day of March, one
thousand eight hundred and
seventy-three.

SCHEDULE.
Kowai Bush District.
Commencing at the junction of the Rivers
Kowai and Waimakariri; thence
westerly along the Kowai to the
River Rubicon; thence north-westerly
up the said River Rubicon to the
summit of Mount Torlesse; thence
easterly along the summit of the hills
to the Waimakariri river; thence
southerly along the said river to the
starting point.
PROCLAMATION.
WILLIAM ROLLESTON, Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury,
in pursuance and exercise of the powers
vested in me by “The Heathcote Bridge
Ordinance, 1862,” and by and with the
advice and consent of my Executive Council,
do hereby authorise the Heathcote Road
Board to levy tolls upon the bridge erected
under the provisions of the said Ordinance,
at such rates not exceeding the sums set
forth in the Schedule to the said Ordinance.

this Tenth day of March, one
thousand eight hundred and
seventy-three.
