β¨ Educational District Proclamations
PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by an Ordinance of the Superintendent and Provincial Council of the Province of Canterbury, intituled "The Education Ordinance, 1871," it is among other things enacted that whenever the Board of Education shall call by advertisement a public meeting of owners and occupiers of land and householders in any district, and such meeting shall declare by the votes of the majority of the persons present (being such owners and occupiers of land and householders as aforesaid), that they are willing that the said district be formed into an Educational District under the provisions of the said Ordinance, and shall declare their willingness to provide the proportion of the annual expenses of an Educational District, the Superintendent shall, as soon as conveniently may be, by Proclamation in the Provincial Government Gazette, declare such district to be an Educational District under the said Ordinance; and such district shall thereupon become an Educational District accordingly:
And whereas at meetings duly called as aforesaid, the owners and occupiers of land and householders in the several districts specified in the Schedule hereunto annexed, did by the votes of the majority there present, declare that they were willing that the said districts should be formed into Educational Districts, and did further respectively declare their willingness to provide the proportion of the annual expenses of an Educational District as provided in the said Ordinance:
Now therefore I, WILLIAM ROLLESTON, Superintendent of the said Province, in pursuance of the power in me vested by the said in part recited Ordinance, do hereby proclaim that the districts specified in the Schedule hereunto annexed shall be Educational Districts within the meaning of the said Ordinance.

WAIHI BUSH DISTRICT.
Bounded on the north-east by the River Orari; on the south by the northern boundary of the Geraldine District (which touches the northern points of sections 3.155 and 11.567); on the south-west and west by the River Hae Hae Te Moana; and on the north and north-west by the hills.
ST. ALBANS DISTRICT.
Commencing at the south-eastern corner of section 287; thence northerly by the eastern boundary of the said section; thence northerly by the eastern boundaries of sections 219, 367, 573, 1070, 1138, 2256, 1071, 1118, 1119; thence westerly by northern boundary of sections 1119, 1192, 1147; thence by north-western boundary of 1048; thence to south-eastern corner of section 276; thence by south-eastern boundary of said section 276; thence by east and south-eastern boundaries of 135; thence by western boundaries of 299, 142, 183, 105, 52, and 6; thence by southern boundary of section 6 to the Town Belt; thence by Town Belt to the starting point.
NORTH ROAD DISTRICT.
Commencing at the north-western corner of section 848; thence southerly by the western boundaries of sections 3659 and 5098; thence from the south-western corner of section 5098 by the north bank of the River Styx to the south-eastern corner of section 285; thence in a northerly direction by the south-eastern boundaries of sections 294, 295, 1218, 1351; thence easterly by the southern boundary of section 1479; thence northerly by the eastern boundary of the same section to the south-eastern corner of section 1473; thence in a direct line to the sea; thence by the beach to the north-eastern corner of section 5905; thence in a direct line to the southern boundary of section 4899; thence by the south-eastern bank of the River Waimakariri to the starting point.
HILLSBOROUGH DISTRICT.
Commencing at the south-east corner of section 1012; thence easterly along the southern boundary of section 388 and northerly along the eastern boundary of the same section to the south-west corner of section 966; thence easterly along the southern boundary of the said section, and northerly along its eastern boundary, and also the eastern boundary of section 274, and north-easterly along the boundary of section 122 to the River Heathcote; thence along the right bank of the river to a point in section 96, where the Lyttelton Railway crosses the said river, and thence along the railway to the north-west corner of section 48A; thence by the western boundary of said section to Wilsonβs Bridge; thence by the right bank of the River Heathcote to the north-east corner of section 82; thence continuing the road on the eastern side of the said section in a straight line to the ridge of the Port Hills; thence following the ridge of the same hills to a point due south of the starting point; and thence in a straight line to the starting point.
