Since the above Returns were furnished by the Road Boards the crops in many parts of the Province have suffered considerably from drought and hot winds. In consequence the yield of wheat will be short of the estimated quantity. The yield of wheat will not in all probability exceed 20 bushels per acre, and there will probably be a corresponding decrease in the yield of oats and barley. The following is an estimate, based on the above statistics, making allowance for probable decrease of yield :-
| ACRES UNDER GRAIN. | ESTIMATED AVERAGE YIELD. | TOTAL ESTIMATED YIELD. | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wheat. | Oats. | Barley. | |
| Total, 1868-69 | 40,038 | 30,768 | 9,871 |

| Decrease | ... | 4,586 | ... |
The attention of Farmers and others interested in the Grain Trade is directed to the increase or decrease of the number of acres under crop of each kind of grain, as compared with the return of the previous year.
