COMMISSIONERS’ REPORT.
SHIP MERMAID
The Commissioners have much pleasure
in reporting, that on their visit to the
above ship, all the various compartments were
found in a very satisfactory condition both
as to cleanliness and order.
The Immigrants were all healthy and
contented; both these results being due, no
doubt, in great measure to the excellent
quality of the provisions which have been
supplied through the voyage. They all
agreed in speaking gratefully of the kind-
ess which they had received from the Cap-
tain, Surgeon Superintendent, and Officers.
No instance of misbehaviour of any kind
was reported to have occurred.
No sickness had taken place requiring
note, and neither death nor birth had occurred
on the voyage.
The (Normandy’s) Condenser had worked
quite satisfactorily, and was in excellent
keeping, as also was the cooking apparatus.
The Commissioners have much plea-
sure in recommending the payment of all
gratuities, and in again bearing testimony to
the excellent order in which Immigrants per
“Mermaid” have invariably arrived.
