Every passenger shall be allowed to take 20lbs. weight of luggage free of extra charge, and for any quantity over 20lbs. and under 50lbs. weight, a charge of one shilling may be made, and for every additional 50lbs. or fraction of 50lbs. weight a further charge of one shilling may be made.

Double the above fares may be charged to vessels lying off or to the eastward of Officers Point when an easterly sea is on, provided the boat is manned by two hands.

During stormy weather, of which notice will be given by hoisting a blue flag half mast at the Harbour Master’s Office, four shillings each passenger may be charged to and from the steamers, provided the boat is manned by two hands.

NOTICE.

FREE PARDON TO AN ACCOMPLICE.

WHEREAS in the case of the Fires which have recently occurred at St. Luke’s Schoolroom, the College, and Mr. Gould’s Residence, respectively, suspicions are entertained that said Fires were the acts of an Incendiary.

This is to notify that His Excellency the Governor will grant a Free Pardon to any person implicated in the origin of said Fires, not being a principal, who shall give such information as will lead to the apprehension and conviction of the offender or offenders.

In the matter of the estate of Henry Walden of Timaru in the Province of Canterbury Butcher a debtor.

NOTICE is hereby given that by an order of this Honorable Court made the Fifteenth day of November instant the estate and effects of the above named debtor were sequestrated and James Edwin Graham of Christchurch in the Province of Canterbury Inspector in Bankruptcy was appointed Receiver under the said Acts and the Eighteenth day of December next at eleven o’clock in the forenoon at the Court House Christchurch was appointed as the time and place for the hearing of the said petition and for the said order was thereby declared to be a vesting order pursuant to section 8 of the "Debtors and Creditors Act Amendment Act 1865."
