Southland, May 15, 1867.
INQUIRIES having been made respecting a Person named JAMES BATTERSBY WRAY, of Hawksbury Mills, Canada West, America, by profession a Civil Engineer, and who is supposed to have been surveying on the Waikiwi Plains, Southland, in September, 1863. Any person who may be able to give any information respecting him is requested to communicate with the Chief Surveyor of Southland.

I, the undersigned, WILLIAM MONTEITH, hereby make application to register the “Morning Star Gold Mining Company, Ross, registered” under the provisions of “The Mining Company’s Limited Liability Act, 1865,” and I do solemnly and sincerely declare that, to the best of my belief and knowledge, the following statement is true in every particular, viz.:

The name and style of the Company is the “Morning Star Gold Mining Company, Ross, registered.”

The place of operations is at Ross, district of Totara, Westland.

The nominal capital of the Company is Four thousand Pounds, in Thirty Shares, of One hundred and thirty-three Pounds six Shillings and eight Pence each.

The amount already paid up is Three thousand one hundred and twelve Pounds nine Shillings.

The name of the Manager is William Monteith.

The office of the Company is on the claim at Ross.

The names and several residences of the shareholders, and the number of shares held by each at this date are as follows:

ERRATUM.
IN Gazette, No. XXXIII, of the 10th instant, in the List of Runs held under the Canterbury Land Regulations, containing 5000 acres and upwards (Class III), read 5,480,160 as the total acreage, instead of 5,481,460; and in the Abstract read 5,579,055 instead of 5,580,855, as the total acreage held under Pasturage Licenses.
