Weather very fine in general. Heavy
rain fell on the morning of the 5th, and on

to April 30, 23.92 inches, on 50 days. Fog
prevailed on the 22nd and 23rd; and one
gale was registered on the 17th, from N.E.
Mean temperature, 57°.8, or 3° warmer
than in Christchurch. Greatest cold regis-
tered by exposed thermometer, 35°.0. Mean
velocity of the wind, 12 miles per day less
than at the eastern station. Mean direc-

NOTICE is hereby given that by an
order of this Honorable Court made
the Seventh day of May instant the estate
and effects of the above named debtor were
sequestrated and Frederick Henry Melvill
Walker of Christchurch aforesaid Accoun-
ant was appointed Receiver under the said
Acts and the Twenty-fourth day of June
next at eleven o’clock in the forenoon at the
Court House Christchurch was appointed as
the time and place for the hearing of the
petition of the said debtor and the said
order was thereby declared to be a vesting
order pursuant to Section 8 of the “ Debtors
and Creditors Act Amendment Act 1865.”
