No. 393, in red.—Three roods twenty-six perches, more or less, situate in the Town of Hokitika, commencing at the junction of Gibson’s Quay and Fitzherbert-street, following a northeasterly direction along Fitzherbert-street, a distance of two chains eighty links; thence westerly at a right angle a distance of two chains ninety-five links; thence southerly, at a right angle, a distance of three chains thirty-nine links; and returning along Gibson’s quay to the commencing point, a distance of three chains five links.—For a Custom House, and for general purposes in connection with the Customs service.
No. 394, in red.—Five hundred and sixty acres, more or less, situate in the Upper Waimakariri district, commencing at a point on the southern bank of the Waimakariri, the same being about 5½ miles distant from and west of the confluence of the said river with the stream forming the eastern boundary of run No. 333; thence following a straight line, in a southerly direction, a distance of sixty chains; thence westerly, at a right angle, a distance of eighty chains; thence at a right angle northerly, a distance of thirty chains; thence again at a right angle westerly, a distance of one hundred and sixty chains; thence northerly, at a right angle, a distance of ten chains; thence again at a right angle, easterly, to the bank of the river Waimakariri above mentioned; and from thence returning along the same to the commencing point.—For the uses of the Provincial Government, and other public purposes, and particularly for the depasturing of stock when travelling.
No. 395, in red.—Ten acres, more or less, situate in the Mandeville district, commencing at the junction of the Oxford and Ohoka road with the Rangiora and Waimakariri road; following along the last-mentioned road, in a southerly direction, a distance of eleven chains twenty links; thence, at a right angle, north-westerly a distance of eighteen chains sixty links to the road first above mentioned; and from thence returning along the same to the commencing point.—For a gravel-pit.
No. 403, in red.—Nine hundred and twelve acres, more or less, situate in the Upper Waimakariri district, bounded on the northward by the northern bank of the Waimakariri forming the southern boundary of the Bealey township, on the southward by reserve No. 394 (in red), and on the westward and eastward respectively by lines being the continuation of the western and eastern boundaries of that reserve. Note.—The above reserve is the river-bed of the Wai-
makariri south of the Bealey township, and includes the land over which the ferry is to cross.—For the uses of the Provincial Government, and particularly for a ferry reserve.
No. 422, in red.—Fifteen acres, more or less, situate in the Bealey town, commencing at a point on the western bank of the river Bealey, the same being one chain fifty links south-east of the south-eastern corner of section No. 32; thence westerly following a line parallel to and one chain distant from the southern boundary of that section, a distance of ten chains seventy links, thence southerly at a right angle a distance of nine chains fifty links to the northern bank of the Waimakariri, following that bank in the south-easterly direction to the western bank of the river Bealey before mentioned, and from thence returning along the same to the commencing point.—For the uses of the Provincial Government and other public purposes, and particularly for a ferry.
No. 423, in red.—One acre three roods, more or less, commencing at a point on the northern boundary of the Bealey town, where it is crossed by the eastern side of the West Coast road, following that road in a northerly direction a distance of eight chains, thence easterly at a right angle a distance of two chains, thence southerly again at a right angle a distance of nine chains sixty links to the boundary before mentioned, and from thence returning along the same to the commencing point.—For the uses of the Provincial Government, and for other public purposes, and particularly for a police station.
No. 424, in red.—Four hundred and seventy-five acres, more or less, situate in the Malvern district, commencing at the intersection of the road northwest of the George-hill estate with the Tramway reserve, following that reserve in a south-easterly direction a distance of forty-two chains fifty links; thence south-westerly following a straight line to a point on the southern bank of the river Hawkins, the same being twenty-six chains west of the north-western corner of section No. 8040, thence south-westerly following a line parallel to the north-western boundary of that section, a distance of forty chains, thence westerly following a straight line to the south-eastern corner of section No. 3719, following northerly along the eastern boundary of that section to the road first before-mentioned, and from thence returning along that road to the commencing point.—For the uses of the Provincial Government, and particularly as a depot for police purposes.
