corner of that section following the north-eastern side of the said gully to the reserve for road along the high-water mark, thence easterly along the said reserve to the Motunau river, thence north-westerly following the south-western bank of that river to the north-eastern corner of the before mentioned section 7543, and from thence returning along the south-eastern boundary thereof to the commencing point—For a township.

No. 164, in red.—One hundred acres, more or less, in the Timaru district, having frontage of about fifty chains to the southern bank of the Rangitata, and extending back in a south-westerly direction, a distance on the average of twenty chains—For a ferry.

No. 189, in red.—Two roods, thirty perches, more or less, bounded on the north and southward by section 186, on the east by a road, and on the westward by the road reserved along high-water mark—Old block house, German Bay.

No. 203, in red.—Two acres, more or less, situate in the Town of Timaru, being sections 131, 132, 133, 134, 135 and 136, containing one rood each, having a frontage of six chains upon North street; sections 147 and 148, containing one rood each, having a frontage of two chains upon Heaton street; the said sections being numbered 131, 132, 133, 134, 135, 136, 147 and 148, on the map of the Chief Surveyor of the Province of Canterbury, setting out and describing the Town of Timaru aforesaid—For Government offices, lockup, jail, and public pound.

No. 204, in red.—Two acres, two roods, eleven perches, more or less, being bounded on the north by North street, on the east by Rose street, on the south by Heaton street, and on the west by the Boulevard on the town boundary, in the Town of Timaru—For a Hospital.

No. 205, in red.—Sixty-four acres, more or less, situate near Lake Pearson, in the valley of the Upper Waimakariri, commencing at the point where the road to Pearson’s crosses the Craigie burn, extending along the road south-westerly a distance of forty chains on each side of the road, and numbered 205, in red—As an endowment for a classical school, as mentioned in the Resolutions of the Provincial Council of 12th and 19th December, 1865.

No. 274, in red.—Five thousand acres, more or less, situate on the West Coast of the Province of Canterbury, commencing at a point on the south bank of the river Grey, the same

being the north-west corner of the reserve for native purposes containing two hundred and fifty acres, and numbered 34 of the General Government reserves in the Grey district; thence southerly and easterly following the western and southern boundaries of the said reserve to the river Arnold; thence following the western bank of that river in a southerly direction to a point on the same, being one hundred and ninety-four chains measured in a straight line from the confluence of the before-mentioned rivers Grey and Arnold; thence westerly following a right line to a point being fifteen chains distant from and in continuation of the eastern boundary of the reserves for native purposes, containing two hundred and fifty acres and numbered 83 of the General Government reserves; thence following a straight line to the south-eastern corner of that reserve and onwards in the same straight line along the eastern boundary thereof to the river Grey aforesaid, and from thence returning along the southern bank of that river to the commencing point—this reserve is made for the purpose following (that is to say): By means of the revenue to be derived from the letting, sale, or other disposition of the said land, for coal-mining purposes, to provide a fund for the improvement of the navigation of the river Grey, and the improvement of the adjoining land and township.

No. 877, in red.—All that tract of land, one chain wide, commencing at a point on the southern bank of the Waihoe where it is crossed by the South road; thence following southerly the line of telegraph poles to the river Waitangi, save and except the South road, and the lines of the Railway already reserved—For road and telegraph.

No. 886, in red.—All that tract of land, being ten chains wide on each side of the river Bealey, extending from reserve No. 878 (in red) to the source of that river—For Provincial Government purposes.

No. 392, in red.—One rood, four perches, more or less, situate in the Town of Hokitika, commencing at the junction of Gibson’s quay and Sewell-street, following a northerly direction along Sewell-street a distance of one chain sixty-five links; thence easterly at a right angle a distance of two chains; thence southerly, at a right angle, a distance of one chain eleven links; and returning along Gibson’s quay to the commencing point, a distance of two chains five links—For a post-office, and for general purpose in connection with the postal service.
